He killed an insecticon assassin. That makes three.
Starscream is treacherous but he knows to do it behind Megatron's back, he would never dare go against him to his face.
Dreadwing disobeyed Megatron to his face, he didn't respect Megatron enough to do it secretly, he had to die.
Megatron should never have let Starscream live after episode 15 - if Screamer had died long ago, then the situation with Dreadwind might not have come up. If Dreadwing ever got froggy, then Megatron could take care of business.
Every decision Megatron made was the wrong one.
Yeah, essentially. I do think he acted in the heat of the moment, frustrated that his usually loyal second in command was disobeying him, but Starscream is more easily cowed into submission, whereas Dreadwing is more stubborn. Additionally, Dreadwing's sense of honor would likely have prevented him from agreeing with some of Megatron's actions once the Omega Lock is claimed. Starscream, son of a glitch he is, up and gives Megatron hostages to use against the Autobots.
I think Bumblebee of all people might have the record, having killed Skyquake and Megatron... at least in terms of named characters. I dare anyone to count how many Vehicons and Insecticons get the ax over the course of the series.
