I don't think they're overrated, per se. Some of their stuff was pretty groundbreaking in it's time. Smart Robin still has one of the coolest and most "Hasbro would never come up with something like this!" transformations out there. I think the high regard a lot of people had for them back in the day was warranted. And on the other hand, I don't know too many people who love them the way they used to. They, and the 3P scene at large, have kind of moved on, to the point where even CHUG-style stuff is at least a Voyager with an expected minimum amount of articulation and minimal use of ball joints. Fansproject, though, still seems stuck in 2013.

Hi l have unite warriors Menasor and his combined formed legs always tilt to the side. So that's why I'm looking for a different Menasor. I like unite warriors computron, defensor, Bruticus, and Devastator plus I have Poseidon, Ordin and Toy World Dinobots. Toyworld Dinobots are terrible and delicate to pose, but I'm keeping it because I still love the end design after I get that pose to keep the Dinobots combined mode still.

Is M3 Menasor taller than the unite warriors sets? Not including Devastator

No, he and the other FP and Maketoys combiners are about the same size at the Unite Warriors sets.

And yeah, the other sets aren't going to be on par with $600 combiners, but they're good for their price, especially Bruticus and Defensor. It's just Menasor that I hated.

Transform mission. Yea really considers t but don't wanna spend that much money. M3 just has the right used market price for me to consider getting it. What's his size tho? I still can't figure that out.

Sorry for not reading your response in enough detail. Thank you for the picture. So he's not really in MP scale, nether are the unite warriors combined. But going MP scale will knock the crap out of my wallet. :(

FP has done some very cool things. I only transformed M3 a couple of times because of the difficulty. But for me I've gone with the MP scale and FP just doesn't cut it for me anymore. Their stuff fits in more with CHUG and it's their niche. I have a few of their dinos but I prefer the G1 aesthetics of FT.

Is transformmission the only thing at MP scale? If so, ouch. I'm not sure if people consider Nero Rex, UT Abominus, and TFC Piranacon MP scale. I'm not sure any combiner really does. Unite Warriors Devastator is a nice sturdy combiner as he is. M3 looks really nice even if not MP scaled. Just looks more cohesive than UW Menasor

The only downside to M3 these days is Maketoys has apparently shitcanned their combiner line, so we're unlikely to get more in that scale.

    They're not MP scale either.

They are arguably "MP scale" individually (MotorMaster certainly is) though.

TFC's, UT's and MMC's combiners are voyager scaled as well - also voyager individually.

The only combiner out that is MP scaled according to the chart, is ToyWorlds Constructor - individually as well.

Needless to say, you can display what you want, where you want. No need for validation from anyone on here, including me of course. If you think any of them look nice with MP's, then awesome :)

All this time I've been wondering if combiners if any type do scale appropriately. I've been wasting all this time for nothing after discovering this. Sigh -____-

Given the aesthetic direction their line had, I was hanging on their Superion :(

I'll keep my other UW combiners but swap out menasor. Now it's a matter of which one and not taking account MP size anymore.

"The holy scale chart" is what I mean :)  and I also go by what they looked like (rather inconsistently, but consistent enough) by the toon.

Sadly, due to ignorance, I am unaware of this chart. Is there a link to see it?

I absolutely love my M3. He's the perfect size for my IDW chug display.

The "holy scale chart" refers to the reference scale chart that the G1 cartoon animators used when they needed to know how big a character should be drawn as in comparison to another character. Just google "Transformers scale chart" and a few will pop up. Many collectors reference these charts to determine if a given toy of a character is in the "correct" scale for their own collection. It should be noted that the animators only used the scale some of the time and weren't strictly beholden to it like some collectors think they were.

Ah so they don't always use this, I've seen it with the lines and the black and white drawings. Can you give a sample how the animators didn't always use it? Like Hoist inside Huffer's vehicle mode?
