I was at a local flea market over the weekend with my son, and we found a monsterbot Doublecross. He was in decent shape, but his decals were really bad. Not even passable. Just completely torn up. The guy wanted $20 for the figure, but I told him he needed new decals and was missing his gun. I wanted him to take at least $5 off, but he wouldn't budge. I decided to act a little snotty and turned to my son and said we'll just look for one in better condition at Botcon, and the guy says we'll probably end up paying at least $40 there.

Did I make a smart choice, or is the guy right?

    Ebay:
$40 should get you a good complete vintage one. They are not that overall expensiv, The hard part is to find them with the box and the inner bubble.

    $20 for a trashed incomplete G1 bot...yeah, I'd say you made a good decision.

    Did the sparker gimmick work?

For the most part, it did work for me, although I really had to lay on the button really fast, but my 8yo son did have a hard time with it. For whatever reason, the button was really hard to push in.

Sounds like the spare Doublecross I have, no gun, decent stickers. And I got it on eBay for $12 plus shipping and I would have let it go for $15. I got my keeper Doublecross on eBay as well, with gun and smooth sparker for $20.

I'll have my DC in my room at Botcon, most likely, and will be doing a parts party Thursday night. FYI. :lol
