yeah not bad, when I first picked it up i think I paid $150 before shipping...this was when it 1st came out of course and there wasn't the Book reissue that comes with all the extra goodies...If I would have know about it, I would have waited but that was year down the road.

I think that is a great price. I bought my two reissues of him for $65 each. So a $20 mark up this many years later is damn good. The bookstyle version set me back around $80 I believe.

Well, unless he is reissued I say you got a decent deal! Congrats by the way!

Thanks LP, it is a reissue, the seller has no idea that it's not the original G1 release, unless you mean the re-release-reissued Megatron#6 bookstyle.

What's the normal going price for this particular set these days?

What I meant is that you got a good deal if Megatron is not going to be reissued. :D  However, IMO if the toy has no visible "damage" to the chrome and is still shiny, and all parts intact - you got a very decent/good deal! Unless you wanted Megs MISB! LOL!

As for ths particular reissue Megatron, he easily goes over US$100, even in my country. But from my observation the "book reissue" version is worth more because of the "book reissue" series - know what I mean?

Point to note - some of my local import shops are still insisting that G1 Megs will still be "reissued" but for Asia only and the pre-order price is around US$50.

However, I must add a disclaimer - I seriously don't know if this is true or the "reissues" are simply Japanese toy companies simply "dumping" stocks after finding excess Megatrons in some long forgotten warehouses...

If they do end up re-release the reissues (say that 5 times fast), I would pick one up for $50 :)

I just picked up that same piece (D-16S Megatron reissue) for $95 for my birthday! It's an awesome buy, congrats!

I'm still not sure about this whole thing about him being put out again, so I say that any Megs reissue under $150 shipped is a pretty sweet deal.

Well, even if the reissue does come out (Megatron TFC#06 Bookstyle), it would only make the D-16S more rare no?

Technically yes, but the thing is most collectors prefer the book reissue version unless a person simply wants a Megatron or a completist. I prefer the version you bought - the box looks nicer! LOL!

Yes, there is something about the boxes with the G1 designs, I think it's one of the reasons why Galaxy Force Primus sold so well, it has numbering like G1 and the box design echoed G1 as well.

Yeah at the end of the day its what the collector wants. For me, I simply want the toy so it doesn't really matter how Hasbro or Takara release the toys.
