Am I the only who thinks Drifts face looks different?
Oh yeah his face is completely different. No clue why but it's not terrible so I won't complain about it
Its very different. I actually like his Aoe look a lot more.
Comparing the image of his face that was released a day or two ago with his face in AOE, it seems they have. I didn't realize that, before. Seems they made it less smooth and curvy, probably trying to address the complaint that it looked too human.
Yes, that is why I believe they changed it as well. Each time some fans complains about something, Paramount changes the stuff. This is why there is lots of mess in the movies.
Eh, TF being able to change their appearance was established in the first movie and I don't think anyone was asking for any of the story changes.
Fans do keep on asking for appearance changes all the time, and about the story changes; I have lost counts on how many times fans has asked for the story to be more G1, and yet complain then the story is more G1.
Also note; Fans complained about Optimus being weak in the 2007 movie, the result was that he became OP the other movies.
I remember a few weeks before AOE was released there was a little interview with ILM and they said the hardest challenge for them was animating Drift's face. So they might have changed it just to make their lives easier.
What G1 elements have the movies incorporated that people have complained about? And with how much people have been complaining about OP being OP, if that happened due to fan backlash, I think they would've undone it by now.
I've been meaning to check, did watanabe voice him again?
The Last Knight is heavily based on the 86 movie, and you know how much people complains about that one. People also complains about The Ultimate Doom elements in DOTM. And people complains about Grimlock being like his G1 self, and they complains about kids being in the movie (another G1 trait), Just to mention a few. I have said this before; The movieverse is very close to G1, but the more G1 elements it get, the bigger the backlash.
About OP being OP; The reason they can't change back is because that is not how movies work. You can't have a character being stronger, and then suddenly being weaker without any reason, unless you reboot. All Hollywood movies are demanded to be bigger than the last.
No its not. Having Unicron be an unseen menace, who has appeared in a huge amount of Transformers stories inside and outside of G1 doesn't make it "heavily based", especially when this version of Unicron has few to zero similarities with the G1 version and far more to the Prime version. The story beats, characters and plots have nothing in common with the original film.
I would have checked IMDB, but I don't have enough time to scroll the 6 pages of human actors and extras and uncrediteds before they start listing the Cybertronian's VAs. Very indicative of a major flaw in these movies!
Yes, it is. Sure, Bonevantura made Earth Unicron so the humans would matter. But the plot is based on the 86 movie.
No it isn't.
It is. I lost the link confirming it, but the majority of the movie is all 86 movie elements. I even listed a few of the 86 movie elements in the review thread. Just because it weren't a rehash of the story (a rehash would be illegal) does not make it not based on it.
Yes, it.. I'm sorry, I don't have a clue i've only seen the first 1/4, but it seemed like the Deceptions were coming to attack the Autobot base, that did happen in 86'! =•)
No it wouldn't be.
And also, again, its not.
Not to talk about what we see in the trailers; Cybertron destroying the Moon like Unicron destroyed the moons in the 86 movie. Since you haven't seen the movie, I won't list the dozen+ of 86 elements in it.
Separate names with a comma.
