Did Dreamwave have anything positive about it?

    G1 vol. 1: pass
    Vol. 2 was better.
Ongoing was mostly good, though Sunstorm got annoying and the Insecticons plot bored me. Agree totally that it was just getting really good as the company folded.
WW1 was outstanding. Furman and Figueroa were dynamite.
WW2 I didn’t care for. Wildmans are did not follow Figueroa at all. I was a fan of his at Marvel, but I feel Baskervilles inks need to be there to allow him to shine. Otherwise.....
I started to lose interest in WW3. Just didn’t have the feel of the first one. Or maybe 2 soured me too much.
Armada was good once Furman took over. Found Energon to be interesting.
    And......that’s it? I think.

Wow. That panel structure is terrible.

    If only structure...

I'm trying to hard one non-terrible things on this page.

    IDK, nice colors, maybe?

Nice shitty attempts at "anime" drawing. Instant reminder of fanart section in an average nineties western anime&manga magazine. I think I'm going to pretend that terrible look of this comic was an artistic choice...

The War Within was aight. The Armada and Energon runs were also pretty good. Leagues better than the show in Energon's case.

I liked the Energon Comics, well, what we got before the cancellation.

All the characters are easily recognizable and one can make out what's happening. The expressions are... ok, she reacted to a hug with Dull Surprise, but *outside* that they're fine.

It's very mediocre, but I've seen worse!

I'd never call anything mediocre being fine. It was a commercial product set for money.

But if people were fine with paying for this... They were fine. It's their money.

Yes, there are worse... But it's not a justification for this one being bad.

I liked the unified Cybertron idea they had for Volume 2 when it first came out, a mixed force of Autobots and Decepticons. I appreciate IDW taking the concept lightyears further, but I never forgot the impact of seeing Ultra Magnus and Blitzwing on the same force and Cybertron seeming to advance without Prime and Megatron.

I also liked the Big Damn Moment of Ultra Magnus using his Optimus cab-self in something, and the cameos of toy-design Reflector. Volume 2 was easily my favorite part of Dreamwave. I got to give props to the MOMTE whose-who style book as well. I can't imagine IDW doing the same thing with the massive ever changing roster they have, and probably seems redundant now with the TF Wiki still going strong. They had some other good small moments, like Kup and Ironhide being revealed to be old buddies together.

If IDW were to collect and republish the Dreamwave books and throw them on Comixology, count me in for some purchases.
