I was thinking that in the movie, Bee and Barricade didn't fight at all.
But then I've remembered that we saw a Chinese CocaCola spot, where Bumblebee and Barricade did fight.
Do you think that their fight scenes were cut out from the movie?
I think so, because it would be stupid to waste Cg for tv spots and not use is in the actual movie...

Yep. Most likely a cut scene.

They don't have a choice in the matter. if the writers write it, they have to fight. If the writers don't write it, they can't choose to fight on their own accord and supersede the writers.

funny you say that since bay and lorenzo mess with the writer's scripts ALL the time.

IF bay and lorenzo orginially didn't screw over the fight in the script then they for sure did by cutting it for the final duration of the movie like the rumors imply.

all for the sake of more humans and more army interaction.

bay and lorenzo just change the script however they feel like and the writers don't give a crap because they get a nice paycheck.

*insert posts about Bay/Lorenzo (can't remember which interview it was) and the one with Steve Jablonsky saying that a lot was cut from the movie* they never specified. Just said a lot was cut

The writers are rarely the creative force behind a movie. They are expected to simply execute the producer and directors ideas for the film in a coherent and structured manner that audiences will identify as necessary elements to a story and movie.

Writers execute the producer's and directors agenda. Obviously a good writer will do a better job than a bad writer.

This is maybe the 12th thread on this topic. Fight scene in this Cocla-Cola ad and also the SONIC Drive-In ad. Yes, sure, whatever.

Shame that a soda and fast food ad had a fight scene between these two foes that I wanted to see but the actual movie didn't. All we got was the car chase scene in London that ended with Barricade flipped over on his back and crying, "Ouch, that hurt." Disappointing. I was hoping Bee would recall how Barry had executed his old friend Que/Wheeljack in cold blood back in DOTM, and try to avenge his death but I guess that was asking too much.

Crap that small nod to continuity really isn't asking much. You would think if a warrior lost a friend in execution style they would avenge them... but then again look at how many tears were shed for arcee, ironhide, and even jazz. The only death that was reacted to normally was Ratchet and lead food kinda.

    lol

considering there's concept art showing them facing off, it's safe to say a rematch was definitely in the works at one point, but due to the bloated mess the movie became, there was no time for anything but a little chase?

IIRC there was also a fight between Shockwave and Optimus that was used for a Burger King(?) commercial back in DOTM's time. I suppose it's possible that there are unused CGI fights between characters that are made without any specific intended use in the actual movie, kind of like how set photos have shown that they seem to just film a bunch of car chase scenes that aren't used in the movie (often in locations that the characters aren't even present for in the movie, like Ironhide in Chicago or Crosshairs, Optimus and Drift in London).
