I personally hated this concept, but what about you guys?
In the version that I watched, all the pictures and paintings in Hopkins' room were very blink and miss and they didnt really ruined the continuity all that much. But i recently saw the US cut and oh boy. What a mess.
Stop encroaching upon Bob evans' territory.
Yes. It's just more tacked on nonsense they keep making up as these movies go.
"Modern technology is because of transformers!"
"The pyramids were because of transformers!"
"The moon landing was because of transformers!"
"The dinosaurs going extinct was because of transformers!"
"Our wars were fought with the transformers!"
Just stop please
Okay, just two things:
1) Why do people keep mentioning Bob Evans lately?
2) Who is Bob Evans?
Well zero thought went into it.
Slapping, Megatron, Shockwave, Starscream and Ironhide on paintings was just stupid. Seekers, why not just stick with them?
I have no problem with Transformers being on Earth in the past...they are robots in disguise. My first G1 episode was "A Decepticon Raider in King Arthur's Court," and I love Beast Wars and most any time there are Transformers or alien beings in prehistoric times on Earth.
The execution on the other hand was off. It didn't really advance the story of the factions or the Creators or the robots as characters. Furthermore, we never actually learned why they keep coming here. Why are they suddenly coming in numerous waves? There is literally zero explanation. Frankly, I think the first three sequels made much more sense on context than most things in The Last Knight.
I actually like the idea of robots in Camelot, and I thought most of the medieval scenes were kind of cool, but then the whole Knights secretly being on Earth the whole time (so far as is known) contradicts what Lockdown said about them.
Bee and Hot Rod's WW II flashback didn't really add to the story or even to their characters, really.
Frankly, as great as an actor Anthony Hopkins is, his character really shouldn't have been in this movie.
Not technically caused by Transformers. Caused by the alien race that created the Transformers. And at least Earth wasn't the only planet that happened to...it was merely one of thousands decimated by the Creators.
I actually thought everything was okay until we got to "OUR WARS WERE FOUGHT BESIDE THE TRANSFORMERS!"
It's me. People turned me into an Ongoning meme about making Polls every Day
The deeper idea is interesting, because by Transformers they likely imply aliens. Now, which of these are not the greatest riddles of mankind? It sounds more like a truth now...
"Modern technology is because of aliens!"
"The pyramids were because of aliens!"
"The moon landing was because of aliens!"
"The dinosaurs going extinct was because of aliens!"
"Our wars were fought with the aliens!"
I don't hate it!!! but its not explained properly most of the Lore about the secret history of the Transformers does not seem like a big deal to the point that it's a pointless concept.
All because the planet they are on is a Transformer god.
Seriously... Yeah, they haven't executed this idea properly have they?
I personally have found that it works better for Transformers when they end up on Earth/in the solar system completely by accident, as opposed to predestined bullshit - the sole exception being Transformers Cybertron (but even then Earth was only one of FOUR places the colony ships ended up). Trying to construct mythos about Transformers that involves them away from Cybertron more than on their own damn planet never works.
Should have been cut content since day one. It ruined the movie franchise for me, not to mention the rest of continuity.
Bayformers are very confused.
Bob Evans is everywhere. You might be Bob Evans.
It honestly got me really hyped. And I love, love the idea! When I saw ironhide, hound, BB, Hotrod, and starscream etc.. in all the damn rethink history campaign I got incredibly excited as I would've loved to see quick snippets of these robots taking part in history. Kind of like the opening credits to Wolverine Origins(yes I know wolverine origins isn't very good) BUT I love twists on history speaking for myself here.
hyping up this history business only to have a meager WW2 scene that frankly made little sense and added nothing, really pissed me off. More so than had they not built us up for this history stuff.
Hands down my biggest complaint about this film was the marketing.
"Rethink history"...kind of
"Rethink your heroes"... no not at all relevant
"The final chapter"... no! No! You just announced several films you f*cking idiots!!
Seriously it's like paramount got duped and hired a bunch of trolls to run their social media accounts!
What was the secret? The last act looked so pretty and the movie as a whole so incoherent, I kinda forgot what I was doing by the end of the movie.
It all amounted to pretty much nothing. I wasn't hot about it in the lead up, but now that the movie is out I don't mind as much. Just a failed... thing.
Separate names with a comma.
