My wife and I were just jarred from a sound sleep. The windows were rattling, the house shook a little, and there was no wind. I'm pretty sure we here in Terre Haute just had ourselves an earthquake. However, I don't live too far from railroad tracks, so I wouldn't rule out a trainwreck (although no crashing or anything was heard).

I'll keep you guys posted if I hear anything.

Yup. Did down here in Evansville. News just reported we had a 5.4 Earthquake. I was gonna post this and use the title "Whole lot of shakin' going on.."

Yeah I was asleep and the shaking woke me up. No figures or anything fell off any shelves. I wondered is a tornado passed near by by it was an earthquake or if I dreamed it all. I was kinda asleep so I wasn't sure. This is the first earthquake I've actually felt. We had a small one several years ago and I was driving in my car at the time and felt nothing.

My wife and I were woke up, our bed started shaking and my shelf at the foot of my bed was rocking. I thought I was going crazy or I was having a siezure or something. Wow first tremor I ever felt.

Odd. Not a single figure of mine fell over. Guess I'm on stable ground.

I felt it too. Wife's alarm clock went off, and while I was sitting up everything started shaking. The dogs went into freak out mode for about 20 minutes. All they wanted was to get the hell out of the house.

And all of my figures stayed upright.

I got woke up around 5:40 or so, the kids were already up. The windows in the house were rattling the way they do during a thunderstorm.

I thought a big truck drove by at first, but the shaking didn't stop and I yelled in that half asleep pissed off way, "What the HELL is going on."

My wife wakes up and goes, "It's just thunder, calm down!"

I woke up at 6:30 to find the sun rising in a clear sky.

It wasn't until I was driving my oldest son to school that I heard on the news that it was an earthquake. There is actually some structural damage to a few buildings downtown.

I live in Albion, about 8-10 minutes from the epicenter, still after shocks rattling every once in a while. Even, 5 minutes ago. No damage, but some GI Joes fell out of formation. Only one to hit the floor was Black Cobra Commander. A train redrailed on tracks near my house, too.

I was in the shower while it happened. Didn't feel any shaking, but the water did sound like it was draining oddly for about 10 seconds. I'm guessing that's due to the quake, but who knows.

Reports are that the earthquake registered a 4.9 up in Chicagoland, so the strength stayed strong over a couple hundred miles.

I didn't feel anything, but they're going on about it on the news about how people in St. Louis City felt it.

It's nice to live out in South County. :p

Some guy on my Atlanta board says he felt it this morning.

I find that initially hard to believe, but if so...that's crazy.
