I tried to follow coverage of Botcon and SDCC here and I'm usually here everyday but, there's still things that I miss.

Were the missing RTS Scouts Windcharger, Rumble, and Frenzy discussed at either convention? Are there plans to release these figures in the USA at some point?

I know Windcharger was released and is a little different from Rumble/Frenzy but, it was VERY limited especially in the USA.

Thanks in advance for your response.

At Botcon they told us not to ask about Generations/RTS and they said whatever products didn't get released is because no retailer wanted them and they will eventually come out.

Nitpickery: We never saw Fr...Ru....the red one in package...so we can't actually be 100% sure RTS was where they planned to release it.

It seems to me with the shift to Cyberverse these guys will be harder to insert into other lines.

Hasbro actually said that? That doesn't sound very professional. "Don't ask us about it. Eventually."??

I find it so hard to believe with all the shelf warming movie crap that stuff like Windcharger and Grapple with the immediate G1 fan base is considered "unwanted". There is a large group of collectors who buy anything G1 related, and the odds just have to be better for figures like that than say, another Mudflap repaint or a non-movie appearing movie line toy or G1 NAME homage like Swerve or Gears or somebody. Those are the ones that no one wants.

Unless Hasbro release them at the same time,or in a very well distributed line, one is going to be rarer than the other.

I think a store exclusive 2-pack is the least worst way forward for these two.

While they're add it, they could offer a retailer an exclusive on Windcharger and Chopsaw too.

They are looking at ways to rerelease the last waves of Generations and RTS.

What that really means is 'We're trying to keep our options open'.

That said....... unlike with some other toys where they were 'trying to find someone to take them' i think retailers would take less convincing.

    Ebay:
Hasbro said exactly what a lot of us expected them to say. But in more professional spin.

We will try our best to get all the toys we show you out [read: we're just the designers, we'd love it if all our hard work hit retail]

But some things are beyond our control [read: the retailers stopped ordering from us].

    Conclusion?

The molds are made. You'll see them again. Rumble/Frenzy have a good chance of making it because they have not yet been released in the US. Windcharger less so. We'll see the mold again but it has less a chance of being a red deco. [read: business as usual, welcome to collecting]

well no body said they're unwanted by collectors, it's the retailers that don't want generations stuffs in favor of the movie stuffs. hasbro could've handled it better by setting aside larger quantity for the hasbrotoyshop instead of shipping every thing to deep discount stores first and put the leftovers on the website where it instantaneously sold out.

Very good point, I see them trying to squeeze Rumble/Frenzy into next years Classic/Generations Series along with Windcharger.

    Hahaha.

"Large group of collectors" <<<<<< tons and tons of kids the movie line is aimed at. Which one do retailers see sell better?

    Eeeeeeyup.

it was more like "instead of a bajillion people asking us the same question over and over we'll just give you the answer right now so we can concentrate on the stuff that IS coming out"

i think we're way lucky places like Toys R Us are willing to pander to the collector market a little bit

I'm beginning to think that the KIDS vs COLLECTORS argument is loosing steam. I see every time a new TF is release it just about sells out on every website that holds it, for months. Kids aren't doing this. And collectors are only turning to online because brick and mortar stores have absolute shit stocking policies.
