What Botcon toys sold out at the convention (if any)?
Junkions were gone by Saturday.
Everything is sold out except the Spinister/Octopunch set and possibly the loose Primus sets. The Box sets, Junkticons and SG Prime/Kick Out sets sold out at the show.
Awesome, the Spinister/Octopunch set was the one I wanted most. Any guesses as to roughly how many are left over? Are they going to be on the club store tomorrow?
No it'll be at least a week or two, that's been their M.O. in the past.
Any word on the production run for each set?
Granted, the Junkions sold out due to two dealers picking up 12 *cases* between them :/
Really? If so this is kinda sad.
Pretty sure it was 2000 Junkions, 2000 SG Prime/Kick-Off, and 1500 Octopunch/Spinister
Yes those numbers are correct i asked at the club store.
55Gs off the toys alone?
If you can sell them for $150 that's still $25G profit.
the junkions sold out within the first five minutes saturday morning....sucked ass.....
Yeah, a buddy of mine was behind the guy who bought 90 of them! Apparently another dealer bought 70...
I can confirm that one particular dealer bought 210 sets of the Junkions alone. His total for everything was in the vicinity of $50,000. I have SOME sets, but nothing even remotely close to that, and was making a point of not abusing the chance of Saturday morning access to the toys. I really don't feel that allowing unlimited buys to dealers before Sunday morning was a good idea at all, and shouldn't have happened. I really suspect there are a lot of unhappy attendees who rightfully expected to have until at least midday Saturday to pick up some figures, and didn't get to.
I agree that is what they should do, but I expect that FP's main goal is to sell them out. And if that encourages people to get packages to be sure they can get a set, that will be a bonus to them.
It does make business sense.
And people bitch about "scalpers" in their local Targets and TRUs. These are the real scalpers.
This is why I believe that going as a General Admission attendee is stupid (that is if you want the toys). You virtually have no chance to get the at-con exclusives if you are waiting in the General Admission line on Saturday morning. Not to mention the other disadvantages of being a General Admission attendee.
I wish FP wouldn't let anybody buy that many exclusives until Sunday morning so that more people could have a chance at buying them. But I agree, they are a business and having them sell-out matters (regardless of who buys them and how many) most.
While I absolutely agree that their goal is to sell out entirely, and should be, the problem I have with this was that even many package holders may have been screwed on getting the toys. I would not be surprised if some folks waited, to not have such long lines to deal with.
If they had done this on Sunday morning, I'd be fine with it.
I don't like how this went down but it was pretty easy to get the exclusives on Friday when they opened everything at 2PM. Any package owner had plenty of chances.
Sunday is too far away though, one day makes a difference. Maybe release the limit at 12PM Saturday.
