This cover art was created by Josh Nizzi. He also created the original Devastator concept art for Transformers 2. It would have been cool if they used this Overkill model for Megatron.

Wreckage looks badass. Kinda hope he's in the sequel, and not just the prequel comics.

"Free variant" as in, you get issue 1 for no money? Or is that the cover artist's name? Bet his first name is "Scott."

Free Variant is how Diamond described it on their list. My guess is that it's the incentive cover for ordering so many copies that most comic book stores usually charge at least a few extra dollars for.

That's exactly right. When a comic store orders a comic like Transformers, IDW gives us a free book as incentive to order more. IDW incentives generally are for ordering 10 or 20 copies of a comic.

Whoops! This is "Wreckage", not Overkill. My mistake!

highly doubt that. More likely the fallen is the guy we saw at the top of the alternate packageing for the energon aerialbot repaints. (linked below) Check out the eyes.

I'm going to grab a bunch of these when they come out. hehe

malcontentman: the design you are talking about was actually for Long Haul one of the many that formed Devastator. but it doesn't really matter. thanks for the props though. :)

    Wreckage...

I flipped when I saw his toy for the first one. Good to see him in action. I always thought he looked ALOT like Megatron when I imagined him in a live-action movie.

I'm guessing IDW has more flexibility to play with Wreckage than characters actually seen in the movie? (That is, considering he's not actually in the film.)

Well, I'm not sure what to make out about Wrekage, I'm just glad I kept him in his original colors.

I just think it's funny now that they're planning on doing something with wreckage now, because originally last night by picking this guy up assuming that I was going to put the guy under the knife and paint to to making a warpath universe toy custom.I wonder what I should do now

Thanks! You are definitely right. I just posted really quick and didn't have my morning cup of coffee to wake me up. I hope that they do use this design for "Long Haul." It looks really cool. I wonder if they tapped Nizzi for designs of the other constructicons also?

Man, just give him an arm cannon and Wreckage would have made a PERFECT Megatron.

That's just the lighting. Those details can also be found on the toy.

You do know who the guy is you responded to? :)
