Currently slogging my way through act 3 - I like the feel of a hopeless battle above ground and the giant demons above and below.

 

ok, i want to get into this game but i wanna start with the first one wish i can buyat amazon. i was told that diablo is similiar to fallout 1 and 2 in gameplay wize. am i correct on this. is the series considered as scary series?

 

I want to get this game but my laptop may not be able to handle it. Oh well.

 

Does anybody still have their guest pass?? I have never played a Diablo game before and I want to try it out before I buy it. If anybody is willing to let me use it please send me a pm.

 

Not really all that similar, other than the fact that they're top-down, isometric RPGs. Fallout 1 and 2 are turn-based, with greater emphasis on story, whereas Diablo is first and foremost a dungeon crawler: run around, kill hordes of enemies, loot their corpses for more powerful weapons and armour, and repeat until you beat the game.


As for whether it's scary or not, depends. It's got gothic horror elements, but the graphics are fairly primitive at this point, so it won't really scare you on that alone. But the game can get pretty intense when it starts throwing more difficult encounters at you, so you might get freaked out when you turn a corner and see a powerful mob waiting for you. The scares come more from the survival elements than from the atmosphere.

 

It's a fun game, but it's kinda easy. Still a blast though.

So, elective mode. Why isn't this the default or at least mentioned before you start a game? I feel like this should have been a toggle when making your first character. "Skill Mapping - Basic or Advanced?"

 

...please tell me that he doesn't actually talk like that with the lisps that makes him sound like sid the sloth from ice age.
