Not the first, definitely not the last, here's my progress so far on the big green monster.

I tried something a little different on him, since I didnt want any partsformers in the bots, I really went to town on Mixmaster. Being a concrete guy by trade, I wanted him to look like a real concrete truck. The ROTF mold for him is awesome in truck mode, so I cut him up and fitted him to the Barricade figure. Took more time to get him figured out than the rest of the combiner.

Just finished priming all the parts an hour ago, right about the time I looked at everything and wondered what I got myself into....

I usually use the Tamiya Plastic Grey primer, but my local hobby shop was out so I used the Tamiya Plastic Fine Surface Primer, which came out white. The good thing is that when its dry, its one of the smoothest primers I've seen, and you dont have to spray it on thick. I've tried lots of different ones, Tamiya has worked the best for me so far.

Looks good... I'm really enjoying the step-by-step photos. Nice workspace. :)

The Mixmaster "re-shell" looks really good! How does the robot mode look?

Using RotF's MixMaster as the shell for yours is a great idea and looks like it is working well for the vehicle mode :)

Ahhhhh, I never get tired of seeing people's Devastator customs! This looks like it's coming together nicely. I love the wip photos and cannot wait to see the finished product. One thing to consider though, you're putting a lot of time and effort into this and it's looking awesome so far. Have you thought about customizing the head to make it more unique/G1? I'm only asking because a lot of people use Starscream for Dev's head but do not really do much with it. Modding Starscreams head would be an excellent touch to your custom.

Finally, it works. As far as the Omega lock, the prime I got from ebay didnt have one so I improvised from part of Starscream, I figured I should use more than just his head. Guess that's what you get when you find all the parts cheap, Mixmaster was the most expensive of the bunch at $20, the rest I found for about $10 each after months of scouring ebay.

DUDE! This is so epic! I cant believe how well the mashup of ROTF Mixmaster and Enegon Barracade worked. I wish I could do that. Cant wait till you get them all painted.

Wow, that Mixmaster really looks nice. The feet may be a bit clunky, but it's overall forgivable.

I think a lot of people are going to be using that combination for Mixmaster from now on.

Gracias amigos, it took a lot of work but I'm pretty pleased with him. I'll probably finish him first and put him up, hoping to have some time this weekend.

Here's a few pics of my painting progress as of today. Mixmaster is about 80% done, banged out a couple of the combiner pieces so they can be set aside. Going with a dusty weathered look, nothing too crazy.

Here's a little teaser, I finished clear coating and assembling the bots earlier today. I had to do a few touch-ups since I got a little ahead of myself, but I'm pretty satisfied. Glad this project is finished, been on it now for 5 weeks and ready for the next one. Here's a couple pics, gonna take some with the digital camera tomorrow, as well as Devastator himself.
