Do you think they made the original Devastator green as a nod to the Hulk? They kinda act the same...

Yes. Marvel did have a hand in writing the characters.

Who the hell makes green n purple construction vehicles?

Actually it makes some sense, then again green and purple isn't an uncommon color combo.

I don't read a lot of comics but if I recall correctly the Hulk can defeat pretty much anything the current writer wants him to.

And the Flash, not being cool enough just running at the speed of light, can take control of the speed force which allows him basically control over physics.

Basically what I'm saying is screw Marvel.

DC characters are way too OP. Characters like The Flash and Superman are just dull.

    Marvel > DC.

BUT THIS IS OFFTOPIC! I think Devastator is just a coincidence. They don't actually act very similar.

You think? Both are pretty semi-dumb enraged brutes... Why do you think rage faces are all the rage right now? :)

Well, does that make G2 Devy inspired by the Thing? It's a very common occurrence, the brutish monster archetype.

    Unless....

every one of the Constructicons represents a part of Bruce Banner's personality.

Nah, they clearly got it from the old Riddle costume of the old batman tv series...no, wait they clearly got it from the joker...no wait, they clearly got it from lex luthors suit...no wait, they clearly come from Piccolo from dragon ball Z...no wait, they clearly come from she hulk...etc, etc, etc.

There are a very limited number of basic colour combinations. Disregarding tints/tones/shades there are only 10 basic colours: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, pink, colourless (white, gray & black) and flesh.

with thousands of superheroes & Transformers you will find the same basic colors and color combinations repeated over and over again, especially the colors that look "cool" or evoke some kind of character trait (like how black with red highlights look evil)

So yeah, to sum up - it's most likely a coincidence. Had he been any other color then you would have thought he was inspired by another superhero.

Yeah, really not much of an uncommon color combination.
