Theres a bit of a difference between a tyre and a catterpillar tread though. And if they still cling to thier 'faux realism' in the film, i doubt we'll see any kind of shifting like that

yeah it's the same Con. Check out the colors and the face, he is definitely one and the same. It looks like (if that is the first part of the movie) then it will rock HARD!

Gosh I can't wait to see more.

Even the toy is going to pull that transformation off. It should be no problem for the CGI model

Yes, the Catterpillar tread changes into a wheel shape, but it doesn't transform into a TYRE....

All the G1 constructicons were the same colour and had a similar face design. They weren't all the same 'Cons were they?

It's not a tire, it's a tread in a round shape. Look at the close up I linked to.

Ack, did you even look at the picture you linked?

Heres a close up of the section in disupute

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Trailer Images! - Transformers News

Notice its thickness, diagnol knobbles, bevelled centre, giving it a rounded contact edge.

    Now compare it to this

    http://lh5.ggpht.com/_JlAsIK_OXI0/Rskq-OgL7iI/AAAAAAAABYA/e0wKivEIgCI/DSC02774.JPG

    and this

    http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/jalopnik/2008/10/Komatsu.jpg

We see that the treads on the steam shovel are neither thick, rounded or have diagnol knobbles on them. Unless of course, innaccuracy is the way the CGI team prefers these days

We're talking about the CGI model having tyres though, not the toy >.>

Also, I'm dubious of them making them all wildly different colours, chances are its going to be one small colour palette or differing patterns

You really seem to be letting the limitations of the toy vs. the CGI model blind you to the obvious. I will make any wager you want that we're seeing the same Constructicon attacking both the helicopters and the highway in this teaser.

I'm, the only person who HASN'T brought the toy into question yet, so I don't know why your dragging this up.

I've been through the trailer, one has catterpillar treads, the other has tyres.... Can't really argue with the pictures >.>

and if it is indeed the same 'con, then the CGI team needs to learn how to accurately design something XD

    *sigh*

    It is the same Con!

We were told by credible sources that all the construction vehicles would be different colors

Please let this argument cease, please

    Actually, thats helping my cause

For one, the 'arms' holding the treads and the wheel on the first and second picture are shorter on one another and closer together, for another, on the first picture, if this was indeed a 'tread' why does it have a centre like a wheel? If it was treads, it would have a centre made up of multiple wheels required to propellel the treads.
