Here are more updates on this collaboration.

All the weapons were base painted with Alclad's base black (very glossy) then painted with Alclad chrome and sealed with future floor polish. The gold parts were painted w/ tamiya's transparent yellow.

Really happy w/ the way the chrome turned out.

    Sweet! :thumb

I recognize a bunch of the shapes, but can't place the weaponry! :banghead: Care to elaborate?

Also, it looks like the guns may combine to form a larger weapon for Devs. Am I right? **crosses fingers**

I thought about that, maybe next time...that would be cool though....
    - Mixmaster's guns are from 2 TFTMprotoform primes
    - Bonecrusher's guns are from 2 TFU Sideswipe/Sunstreakers
    - Scrapper's guns are (his own) and TFTM ironhide
    - Scavenger's are from something G1 (no idea, and quite possibly can be very rare and worth millions for all I know)
    - Long Haul's gun is from TFTM tow truck (forget his name)
    - Hook's gun is his own. (really like the way camera's macro did that one shot)

Those look amazing, and they work really well with the aesthetic of the rest of the piece. I really need to look more into getting some alclad, it makes me giddy everytime I see it.

Also I think those other weapons are from metroplex, his shoulder cannons I believe.

    I knew Scrapper's and I recognized Ironhide's guns.
The one that threw me was the G1 parts, but I know now it's Metroplex's guns, the ones that make Sixgun's arms!! :thumbs2:

Those are sixgun's guns, from G1 Metroplex. Though kind-of ironic, it feels more like it's just wrong to me instead :lol

Those look great. Sabby, how on earth did you get that super shiny chrome on those guns? Electroplating? LOL.

Actually, I'm taking credit for the guns! hehe.
They are painted with Alclad. Lots of practice, I almost have the method down so it retains the chrome and sheen.

I'm actually working on a G1 Soundwave and ROTF Voyager Megs and Sideways both in the same chrome.

Haha. Yeah. I didnt do any of the bonus items. All were done by Mike himself. Ok. I have to say that I think Mike did an EXCELLENT job with the chrome. I'm not just saying this due to the fact that this is a collab with him but I honestly think that he really outdone himself on all the chrome and weapons colour scheme. It's really breath taking!

Mike, I see you are trying out the tips I told you for your camera. Now you need to work on depth of field. getting EVERYTHING in sharp focus.

Yes an advanced photo tutorial would be great. Can this be done with a point and shoot or does it have to be SLR?

Back on topic, man Mike the chrome is ace. That must have had to cure for a couple of days to get to the proper hardness. So alclad & an airbrush I assume, but what about cleaarcoats or other protectants?

Aha! Finally found it. I had to dig through pages of threads, but I found the weapons!

Great job Mike! You've really perfected that chroming. Nice choice on the weapons too, they really fit.

Mike, while the painting is terrific (as always), I'm inclined to agree with RL here. I think the key here is modification. I think if you were to do a few changes to the guns themselves (like remove the light bar from Longarm's hitch/gun), you'll be on to something that'll not only look even better, but also be more rewarding for you as an artist. :thumb

    I'm all for that.
