Archons forge is a lot of fun! I did it last night and it was a blast more fun the court of oryx. Currently 346 thanks to AF and rank packs. Trying to hurdle 350 so I can hit a strike
Didn't have a lot of time to play in the latter half of the week, but I was a bit bummed by my lack of success. I don't like Supremacy Rumble. Actually I don't really care much for Rumble period. I liked the Supremacy idea, a Clash or Mayhem of it would be fun, but the outright free for all wasn't much fun for me; I suppose mostly because even on my better days I'm not that much of a PVP player, but free for all's are not my speed; at least with teams I can synergize with other players. I tried to do the Strike Playlist, figuring that a Stormcaller Warlock, with Zhalo Supercell and all arc weaponry in a list that has Arc Burn on would make up for my 340's light level. I did fine with damage and clearing, but other players dying and quitting was the issue, along with some very difficult boss battles. I also didn't care for being one shot by taken shield guys in one list. Twice I loitered around the Forge, but no one else showed up to do it. Sure, when I'm helping a friend, we have to wait to pass because of players doing the forge (and somehow we got credit for one of them), but when I'm ready to do it, no one's around. I noticed some of my friends were doing the Raid. Geez, you guys either know a lot of secrets that I don't or play a lot more then I do. I'm not even 350 Light on my Titan yet and you guys are in teams of 6 at 370.
I've been seeing posts around the Bungie forum of people cheesing the Will of Crota strike to get that high in a few days. But anyone one above 360-65 by now invests more time in it than we can regardless of the method. Those will be the folks sick of the dlc within a week or so due to having done everything though. Not having a ton of time myself I plan on just enjoying a slow climb to the top, doing what I can when I can. I haven't tried Supremacy yet as I'm not much of a PvP person either. About the only thing I do is Iron Banner and maybe 6v6 when my brother invites me.
Yeah the ol' Omnigul farm is getting people levelled quick. Kill her before the actual boss room using tether and swords and she drops blues up to 365 I believe.
Little tip for those who are running solo but want to do Archon's Forge with others. The entire area works as an instance and will try to pair you up with other people in the Forge. It's recommended to crouch walk down the hallway to the Forge as this will allow the game enough time to load you in with like minded individuals. Also the first part of the Raid is completely doable by a team of 360s if you're on the ball. Man I just love the amount of mobility needed for this Raid.
Got to 361 today, going to get the nightfall done tomorrow. Level some more and then get the raid done next week I think.
we beat the nightfall twice, what a pain. We're going to try the raid tonight, hope it goes well. ground the hell out of strikes, got to 365 on all three characters, haven't even done the story on the other two yet.
Well, team Supremacy was better, but I truly realized something; it's been a long time since anyone was 20+ light above me. For a long time, above 6 was uncommon. I am closing on 350 with my Titan. Got my Warlock the Gjallarhorn solo. He died about 5 times on the two special missions, though I found an uber cheap way to wait out the time for the Ghost to make the Gjallarhorn with him. I'll see if my friend is willing to get Khvostov with me or if one of my online friends wants to do it. Watched a video outlining how to do it and it doesn't seem that tough. However, on Tuesday Lego Dimensions starts year 2 and I'm fairly jazzed for that, so I will be playing less with that dropping. I also looked up how to get Thorn and forget that.
Got the nigthfall and most of the new raid done today, up to the final boss who is 380 light so that can wait until next week! Now at 264, raid got me the Fusion Rifle, Gauntlets and the Tresspasser. Raid is amazing, best one yet I feel like saying.
Oh. Heh, one of my friends and I did it tonight. I don't mind doing it again though, if you need the company. I have to say, it was actually a fun quest. (Though to be fair, my friend knew where all the parts where and I had seen a guide, so that took the only element that I think would've been hard in a blind situation) I loved the progression, the running boss battle (significantly easier with a friend), the the full circle of it, along with the conversation at the end. It sucks that you can only get it once, but I suppose that gives it more weight against my two Gjallarhorns. I had a pretty good play time tonight; got the Khvostov, then helped his third character finish the patrols and get the Gjallarhorn (He in turn led me to half a dozen SIVA fragments I missed along the way), did several Hard story missions (along the way I hit the next tier so I got the boots from the RoI Log book), then we did a Strike. I also got the Legendary Titan Mark Chiro is offering, which looks pretty cool, but more importantly gets me to the first tier in strength, so I'm 5-5-1 (and some) for my attributes. Finally got my first over 350 light item as well, as my The Swarm (Machine Gun) is now 351. I enjoyed the first mission in the story, the last mission in the story, and Kvostov's. The rest is where it could use some help. I guess I'm still a bit frustrated at the tell, not show approach that this story has going on and how so much of the potential isn't realized. Why was Rasputin so against the Iron Lords? What was Rasputins use for it? Why are the Fallen so successful with it, and what is SIVA's own agenda and why is it allowing the Fallen to use it? I just think there should be far more to this then just new type of Fallen enemies, shoot them.
I actually knocked out the the khvostov manual pages this morning while I was killing time before work. Just gotta find the parts. I had some problems with arkons forge last night myself, but found out I had a terrible internet connection so I was getting kicked out of groups as I walked up the steps to the terminal. which sucks cause I wanted to finish the last two of shiros weekly bounties. oh well gonna start all over I guess. I have one more Iron medallion to pickup for the Gjallarhorn quest then Ill probably just infuse it to my black preorder one...which is still at 3. I got one of the stellar impact pieces of armor I had been wanting as well now I just gotta finish the set. I have no idea why but I really like the look of that set, but is it just me or is Chroma kind of fading away? I guess I thought all of the new armor would still allow for chroma. oh well as far as the story I thought it was mentioned by saladin that Siva needs a mind to control it, seeing how crazy the fallen tech is anyway I kind of feel like the tentacles and odd appearance of the siva tech falls in line with how the fallen ships and areas appear. I thought the Mars mission to clovis bray explained how they learned so much about it or maybe i misinterpreted that? I can only assume Rasputin had the same plans for it as the iron lords but at that point I dont think guardians were on the same page as Rasputin (which they kind of allude to in some of the early missions form year one I think). who knows though I really havn't delved into the grimoire card info personally. Im currently at 348 so hoping to break 350 and get into some heroic strikes, though Im tempted at 348 to see if a team can carry me.
I can't remember exactly, but I believe that we were all 361+ at the start. I'd say that the entire raid is doable at 360 up till the end, but the phase before the very end will be tough then as it's 370 light. Played a bit more today after college, got up to 367. Got a few pieces of gear at 370, so hoping to get there before I get the final boss in Wrath of the Machine again. Pretty happy with the Tresspasser, I hate flinch as a mechanic in general so I might drop sniping for Trials this weekend. Might still be OK since snipers are best in elimination, but we'll see. Should get to the Lighthouse anyway, looking forward to some new Trials loot. Also entirely unconfirmed possible PC release for Destiny 2!
^ nice I tried doing a heroic strike last night at 348 tough but made it to the boss and couldnt beat it. It was a two man team for about 4 rounds and we got a 3rd we tired it 3 more times and they both bailed. So I quit after that it was the wretched eye strike. did get a legendary that got me to 349. I would be at or over 350 if I had a 350 heavy....still havnt finished the Ghally quest. that said I feel there are some broken aspects of the forge. I did patrol for hours and hours and hours and never got any fusesd siva offerings, but I got chance to participate in a few other presented rounds and never got any to drop during the round either. I think that mechanic needs some adjusting. Not to mention its tough to find others participating in it and if you have one in your inventory thats all you can carry?. Ive been spamming this thing trying to get some of chiro's bounties and just cant get it done.....
Yeah, only being able to hold one of each tier offering at a time is quite irritating in my opinion as well. I've found that the Brood Wizards seem to drop them more so, all three of mine dropped from a Wiz which is funny, figured siva caps and majors would be dropping them instead. Found the last Medallion for the Ghally late last night so all that's left is a Mission I think.
It helps to crouch walk into the forge, it loads you in slower and increases the chances of entering another instance with players.
I tried that and I felt like it allowed people.to.show up but when I stepped on the platform they disappeared. Thought it was my shitty connection the first night, but last night I had a solid connection
