    Hey guys!

    Purely from a design standpoint, who do you think looks cooler?

    Devastator or Predaking!?

    Devastator. Wings are nice and all, but Devastator really conveys the sense of power and enormousness. Robotic animals? Not so much. Sharp edges FTW.

    Predaking. It's the colours, really. Green and purple? Not threatening. Black, red and gold? Shite in your pants. Also, giant ferocious monster-bot beats big green man.

    Going outside the 'design standpoint' requested by the OP, Predaking wins by not being as dumb as a sack of bricks.

    I don't like gesalts, never have. The exception being Predaking.
    Design-wise, he's more than a bunch of alt-modes stuck on a frame, like most other gesalts. The only extras are the head, fists and feet. Devastator has the fists, arms, shield, head, hips and waist plate. He also isn't playable.
    Predaking has good locking mechanisms and some articulation. That makes him more fun and better designed.

    Character-wise, Predaking is an intelligent, almost unstoppable hunter. Devastator is a lummox that breaks things. So's my big uncle Bob.

    Predaking for the win.

    devastator. He's better proportioned. Predaking is so bulky, and not in a good way. Also I prefer the more imaginative way that the constructicons hook up, as opposed to just linking at generic ports similar to most scramble city gestalts.

    Predaking. He just looks a whole lot better, imo. He looks like he'd actually be good in a fight, while Devastator, to me at least, looks like he'd fall appart too quickly.

    Devastator. The best combiner IMO is Bruticus, though. And I still can't believe I sold my Liokaiser years ago.

    I'd have to throw my vote to Devastator. Something about the constructicons all being Green and Purple while not combined, makes you wonder...what are they about to do. Then they form Devastator, which looks like is meant to be (if that makes any sense)

    Sure Predaking is cool looking, but giant animal robots forming a giant human-type robot, doesn't fly as well as the feeling behind Devastator. Devastator's also got a very convincing personality, which fits perfectly with his look and design.

    Predaking win this but razorclaw needs to be bigger as the limbs are just to bulky to me.

    Predaking is far more visually interesting, but the unifomity of the separate Constructicons merging into that one large being is brilliant. He seems very in proportion in comparison to Predaking. Devastator also has the added benefit of being the first gestalt.

    Devastator is a classic, and generally I'm not a big fan of beast-formers... but I hand this to Predaking all the way, both in terms of toy engineering and overall aesthetic.

    Which is not to say I don't appreciate Devastator. There's great stuff in that design, though the toy is a product of it's age to be sure.

    I always loved this concept art for Predaking... small details to make him look huge, all elongated, with lots of points and sharp edges. It's awesome. :)

    Devastator gets props for being the first Gestalt, but he looks bitch-ass compared to the others.
