I choose Wheeljack. I think he has the best combination of vehicle and robot mode.

With the exception of Bruticus, they all have that 'more of the same' feeling to them.
And I can't understand the entries of Menasor and Unicron. They're terrible.

 

I'm torn between Wheeljack and Repeater from the Bruticus set.

Obelisk is really cool too but he feels a little half-complete due to the lack of legs.

 

bruticus for the win. i vote for him. awesome designs. loved shockwave's head. unicron was a close second. and menasor was a close 3rd. but yes, bruticus gets my vote.

 

Very much agreed. Having said that, the Shockwave design gets my vote.

had to give props to the wheeljack concept who ever made that has to be proud of themselfs if they made a toy of it i would buy it

 

All of those are awesome. It was tough between Wheeljack and Shockwave, but I have to say the Shockwave design personally takes the cake. He just oozes pure evil.

 

A mixed Bag

Well, I am exited for about half of the entries and disappointed in the rest. This contest was a 'Design a MOVIE Transformer' contest....and unfortunately I feel that some of the entrants that decided to go out on a limb to be creative were punished, while those who decided to play it safe and gain popularity buy remaking G1 chars and giving homage to them were rewarded. Last time I checked most of the movie line chars didn't closely resemble their G1 forms...giving me the impression that focus on redesigning characters...not 'updating them'. I applaud the Efforts of some of the top 10 'remake' entries that did go out on a limb (like Terra's Grimlock) by 'recreating' character to be DIFFERENT, while still making a gentle touch back to their roots but am disapointed at simple 'updates' like Sunstreaker......

My opinions of each are as follows-

Sunsteaker - a cool remake idea...but to simplistic and unoriginal...just looks like a modernized G1

Bluestreak - Very well done. movie-esque. I very much like the art style too

Unicron - Very unique and interesting concept that would fit the movie well, but it just didn't 'jump off the page' at me. (it this was done in a 3-D movie style artwork, it would problebly win)

Wheeljack - though choice....amazing concept and very original. Ties with G1 more than i'd like, but not enough to influence me one way or the other....I think he will look MUCH better once he gets the 'reflective silver finish' and 'gunmetal grey' treatment the movies use.

Bruticus - VERY IMPRESSIVE....graphicly appealing....well planed out...yet lacks personality...just seems to be Devistater in a different body...I don't really blame the design for its lack of personality though, because it is the usual fate of a combiner, but the awesome factor and presentation makes up for it

Menasor - WoW. like i stated before, It is DAMN HARD to put personality into a combiner, but this entry pulled it off! very impressive idea design and gives of great personality, but lacks the graphic movie presentation expected of movie transformers...looks almost like it would fit the animated style better...This entrant is almost the exact opposite of Bruticus...

Obelisk - interesting planing and unique ideas went into this guy...but is made too much to resemble previous constructicons.

Sandstorm - Unique, Original, Fits the movie reqs perfectly wile still retaining its unique individuality. The graphic presentation was amazing and really sold me on this design. good job! My only qualm is that since this guy is more of an original concept, I have no Idea of the character personality...is he the strong silent assassin type? the gun-ho type? a soundwave or a shockwave? a starscream or a cyclones or a Devastor? I see him as Scourge/Nemesis Prime (RID). Us fans whant to know silly sappy things like their personality!

Powerglide - Interesting Innovative, stylistily unique and appealing and could work very well in a movie setting...but just lack the BADASS factor..

Shockwave - .....clap........clap.....applause.....I am blown away with amazement by this one! VERY Unique and original, VERY well presented! This is what this contest is about. Acid Wing may have not had the best graphical appeal or the most interesting Transformer gimmick, BUT succeed in completely RE-INVENTING a classic character, Making it different than the original, yet still gently relating back to the G1 character that we all love...very well done, good job

i liked Wheeljack,Menasor,Bluestreak,and Obelisk but chose Menasor

 

Powerglide FTW !  

Very unique style and perfect execution. Robot proportions remind me
of actual 1984 G1 toys.

 

Obelisk has my vote. He's very cool looking and I wish he had a toy XD

 

All of them are really great, but I decided to go with Wheeljack. He has a very sleek, yet bulky stylized design that I really love.

 

Hmmm, to bad Ramjet and the other Shockwave didn't make it.

To me they were of much better caliber and quality than most of these.

none of them have much personality to me except for maybe Wheeljack

The one constructicon looks pretty cool so my vote is for him.

 

Yeah I felt that Ramjet and the other shockwave, and especially cyclones were all very unique and original. I like Cycones a lot, and he could easily be converted to Galvatron too.

 

Voting was a little tough, as all of them were really good. In the end I decided to vote on Wheeljack. There's just something about that design that's brilliant. I'd love to see it actually be used for the movies, and I'd buy most, if not all of the inevitable toy incarnations of it (Deluxe, Legends, FAB, HA, etc...). Obelisk was a close second, imo. I could see that design working well int he movies. Not so sure how it would work as a toy, but it would definitely look great on the big screen.

 

I have to say, I like what was done with Bruticus, but I dont think it'd translate well onscreen. Now, the two I had trouble choosing between were Powerglide and Wheeljack. In the end, I chose Wheeljack, just because I can see him having a cool toy, and would translate well onscreen. Powerglide intregued me, with the multiple personalities, plus I like the design. I wish I could choose them both, but Wheeljack is for me. Plus, why no Powerglide love?

 

I had to choose bruticus but they're all pretty damn good
