Got board at work this week (boss was on vacation kinda leaving me a fairly lax week) But rarely do I get to include my passion for Transformers in my work so I went for broke.
    they're both about 7ft tall.

Love it. You must have a cool boss though- I worked at a Home Depot while I was in University (met my wife there too) and no way he would have let anyone do something so... creative with their time. excellent work

Thanks!! My boss loved it, People are stopping to take photos all day long. I've had a few other stores ask me if I wanted a Job working for them this week.

My boss knew I was doing something "weird" back in my office before he left, but he has come to trust me, so he didn't say anything. He came back a week later and these guys were towering at the main entrance. He was blown away.

Thanks for the support guys, this was my first time tackling anything like this in this scale. (from the looks of things and the requests from other stores in Las Vegas, I might be making a lot more for the other stores... fun fun. I guess I can't complain too much, Its not often we get paid to make Transformers right? )

They are currently on display at the Tropicana and Decatur Home depot, just off the strip In Las Vegas Nevada.

The store manager loves having them up there, especially with SDCC going on right now. I will find out tomorrow if I am building any more, but I have gotten a lot of requests to build more for other locations. Although I would rather be working on a 7-8ft gen 1 style devastator right now, I guess I have to do the projects that get you paid before you do the ones you want to do, right?

Any Ideas for future builds if they want me to keep going?

I was thinking of building a beast, ravage like, bot to look like the sears car, but not sure if that is over kill.

SO Cool! Ive had a few store Managers that would have appreciated that kind of creativity, but I can't picture any of my Regionals going for it. Different culture in your organizaton, I guess :)

    Wonderful wonderful work on these!

So the District manager and his entourage came in today, and the verdict is...

He loves them and wants them to go on display at the International Home Depot Convention/ Store manager's Meeting in March, at the entrance to the convention. He also wants me to build more, but this time, now that I am doing this with his support vs, doing it as a side project on the hush hush, I am getting real funds and some solid work time.

I'm so fracking excited! I can't believe I am getting paid for this. Its like a dream you have when you are a kid doing your first customs.
