So, it seems Animated: The Arrival #6 has indeed been confirmed to have been cancelled.

But NOT for the reasons we thought...

So at least those who buy the TPB will have a great bonus!

So was issue 6 supposed to be packed in with a large toy or was coming with a small toy attached to the front of the comic?

As long as the TPB is fine I'll be happy, I only buy TPB's.

Could it not have just been released later after the toy came out? I don't do TPBs anymore so having an issue withdrawn kinda irks me when I've been loyally collecting the individual issues. If I'm going to have a gap I may as well stop collecting now.

I guess. But that's not really my point. I'm just not a fan of the 'We'll fix it in the trades' thing. If everyone just waited for the trades instead of buying the individual issues then comics companies would probably very soon be out of business.
Anyway, whatever they want to do.

And the funny/RAAAGE part is, they'll probably say something in the TPB's cover like "EXCLUSIVE BRAND-NEW STORY!" or "EXCLUSIVE: THE LOST CHAPTER!".

YES IT STUPID, but it seems to be IDW's policy. Another reason I'm buying less comics these days. So the only way to get the story is to pay 20 bucks for the figures or for the trade. And in this economy that's stupid.

It's been at least a decade where I stopped buying loose-leaf. I always buy TPB. The only exception is when back issues are at a discount. For example, I bought the 4 issues of Stormbringer for like $1 each when my local comic shop had a sale.

I know that people need to buy loose-leaf to keep the industry afloat, but I got so tired of being punished for my loyalty. This goes for all comic companies. At the end of the day, my loyalty is to my own wallet, not IDW, DC, or Marvel's wallet. TPB's usually cost the same (or a bit less) than the loose-leaf and lack the ads. Even without any supplementary material, that's a deal right there.

I always thought a fair practice would be to make amends to those who bought loose-leaf by having a rebate system, where you mail them your old copy and they send you a fixed one. But I'm not the CEO of any comics company.

I always get TPB. I do not accept "We'll fix it in the trade" as an excuse. Ever. In my opinion, it is never an acceptable restitution to simply say, "Sure. Buy it again, and it will be better."

That being said, I suppose I now have even more incentive to get the Animated TPB. Mind you, I was going to get it anyway. I've been reading it in the store and putting it back in the meantime.

Seems odd since the "Jet Twins" have been released already, when was the comic supposed to be out? Seems pretty crappy for the comic readers to have to buy a 2 pack that doesn't seem that great IMO just to get the comic. I mean it's not as bad as if it was a story ark that was being cut off, cuz as far as I know the IDW TFA comics are stand alnoe stories and don't require reading a whole 6 issue ark to know what's going on like most comis these days

Well, they've been released, but they're hardly at saturation.

I'll bet Hasbro had a lot to do with why this isn't out yet.

TPBs are collected individual comics in a paperback book form. Usually they collect a single storyarc or miniseries, sometimes they're just anthologies.

They're a lot nicer to have on the bookshelf than regular comics - myself, I'm slowly upgrading my comic collection to TPB format. They're great if you're just jumping in to a story, as it lets you catch up pretty easily.
