What class did you guys start off with? The little guide with the game recommended the Royalty, but it took me around 2 hours to finish the first level...maybe I'm just terrible lol.

 

I personally started off as a Knight, and yes the first level can be vicious when you go in blind (as you should). In fact most levels are hard and rough your first time through. On subsequent runs though things get a lot easier as you're more aware of the surprises.

A friend of mine just got this game recently so to co-op with her I made a new Barbarian character, and while I was personally better at fighting in this game, the Barbarian is still a really hard class to start with. Royal is usually the easiest starting class because it comes with such great gear, namely the Fragrant Ring which restores MP over time. Combined with their natural casting ability and equipment, Royals start off with a huge headstart in what they can do.

 

Just picked this game up and man is it a beast!

 

Speaking of which I need to actually beat this game one of these days. About time I move on pass the first area because I'm too lazy to fight the damn Phalanx boss.

Ha! I'm curious to any who beat this game how many hours did it take and how high was your soul level?

 

Don't think it took too long for me, as I already beat Dark Souls when I got back to this game and played as a magic user, which made the game much easier. Really, magic breaks the game in my opinion.

 

Finally got a PS5 and bought this game. Holy balls is it hard!

 

In terms of Fromsoft Soulsborne, it’s the easiest. I never played Demon Souls until the PS5 remake. It took me 20 hours for my first complete play through. I think Bloodborne took me 50 Hours.

 

I've beaten it already as well. However, the game does feel a lot shorter than other From games.
