I notice my Targets and Walmarts have changed their pricing....
Is this true everywhere?
my target has 9.99 universe/animated and 10.99 movie
the voyagers(19.99),ultras(24.99) and leaders(39.99-42.99) are normal prices still
They raised US prices at the start of the month.
same here for mine. i was just there today.
Prices went up at my Target in California.
so it seems as thought it's up in spme, same in others
Thirteen to fourteen bloody quid for deluxes now.
In my area, Leaders have been $42.99 at Target since Animated started, but Deluxes ($9.99), Voyagers ($19.99) and Ultras ($24.99) haven't changed in price at any of the stores in that chain. At my local Wal-Marts, the prices on TFA Deluxes, Voyagers and Universe Ultras are the same as Target, but they're only charging $39.99 for the Leaders; I have seen a few Wal-Marts charging $10.99 for the Movie Deluxes, but not all of them. At TRU, all Deluxes are $10.99, but Voyagers and Ultras are the same as Target and Leaders are $39.99.
Last month my target had movie leaders at 39.99 and animated leaders at 42.99, now animated leaders have actually been price-reduced down to 39.99
What went up at the beginning of the month was wholesale pricing, and only a small percentage (mid-single digits, which would be 4-7%, on a wholesale deluxe that would work out to less than $0.50).
Some retailers (and which ones varies by store and area) have been slowly increasing their prices over the last 3 years or so. At one point, Target had Ultras during Energon for $28 instead of $25.
The wholesale pricing has hardly changed, and the MSRP is the same. What people are seeing is retailers who feel that the MSRP is not providing a reasonable profit margin on the item. There seems to be a fair amount of discretion handed over to management of the stores, however, which is why the price changes aren't consistent across a chain.
My wal-mart has everything at $7.77
Only thing I've noticed so far is ToysRus having 10.99 Deluxes.
I just hope that the price increase in the US don't affect too much the mexican market, hey are already over priced here.
With the minor price increase and the cost of fuel online purchasing is looking a little better every day...
Price increase is on Hasbro's end which the retailers then have to mark up as well.
KB Toys already went from $10.99 to $11.99 to $12.99 on deluxes about four to five months ago. You want a Star Wars figure from KB Toys? $9.99 a pop! Four figures cost you $42 something after tax in my store. AND PEOPLE STILL BUY THEM.
