Alone the same lines of "Games that made you buy a console", in retrospect what game would you associate with each console as being the epitome of that console's greatness.

So, not what made you buy it, rather, what game is that Console's defining moment.

For that reason PS3 or 360 shouldn't be included because their time isn't over, but it doesn't hurt to name a "Up to this point"

    NES: Rygar
    SNES: Final Fantasy 6
    N64: Zelda: Ocarina
    Cube: Windwaker
Wii: Probably Smash Brother's (but I don't own the system

    Master System: Phantasy Star 1
    Genesis: Flashback
    32X: .................. Shadow Squadron?
    Sega CD: Tie - Lunar/Snatcher
    Saturn: Panzer Dragoon Saga
    Dreamcast: Shenmue

    PS1: Final Fantasy 7/MGS
PS2: Shadow of Colossus (IMO), and/or God of War 2

    3D0: Road Rash
    Atari Jaguar: Alien vs Predator

    Xbox: Halo, but Otagi (IMO)
360: Mass Effect (again, IMO), though more than likely Halo

PS3: Thus far, Little Big Planet

    GBA: Zelda Minish Cap
    GBC: Zelda: Oracle series
    GB: Zelda: Link's Awakening
DS: Thus far: New Super Mario
