This is a pretty tough situation,on the one hand Axers bike mode is a dead ringer for Groove but he`s a bit small.
I think as long as you can add some bulk to Grooves "arm mode" it should balance out O.K.,Have you thought of giving Groove a sidecar.

nice idea Spurt, it can double as an arm cannonr, or something. lemme think about some ideas...

The arms will basically be what you see, with bashing so that blades and groove snap into them, like, I will cut away the shape of groove on the arm, then he clips into that empty area. The remaning part can be decorated/painted so that it resembles the vehicle on it (for example, if blades is white with red stripes, the arm he's on will share that red stripe / same theme, so it looks like the arm is spawned from the helicopter)

I think when I suggested that earlier, someone said he was pretty large...but I'm not sure. As it stands now, I like the set-up you've got, F_R.

    Ebay:
Bulkhead's a voyager with a backpack (he sold as an ultra)

He's pretty tall for a voyager too-- an inch or so bigger than cybertron Evac (he's still my number one recommendation).

Count that one out, might as well use Evac, he is much more "rescue".

Blades is actually gonna get an official classics toy. (redeco of Evac) that would work. for groove i'd say Armada Sideways is your best bet.
Ironhide and Ratchet will also be released under classics,as a new mold.
    Prowl isnt available yet either.

It seems transformers are coming who are perfect for this project but that would mean you'd have to wait for a while.

just picked up armada sideways and e stormcloud.
I REALLY dig Axer for this mold, but after careful review, a larger bike might is necessary. worse case scenario, I will combine parts from each

OMG! axer is small. I think those choice are okay, but a different bike would work, which one well its up to you. as far as this project goes its going to be pretty awesome to say the least.

Couldn't wait for the "movie" release I see, neither can I, but I can't find one for a decent price (>$8 which will be the cost at Target retail). Then again, if I had a custom at +$750 on ebay I'd be buying up stuff too!!!

Works for us, it means this will be finished w/ in the next few months!!! Long before the Movie Stormcloud hits.

lego bionicle ball and socket joints

or if those are strong enough to work with you could always try using those lego shellformer clicking rachet joints

if that don't work all together you could just explore the idea on a smaller scale

say by using energon barricade, blackout, sledge, duststorm and cybertron ransack for hotspot, blades, firstaid, streetwise an groove

with a bit of kitbashing dustorm can make for a rather believable looking heavily armored police cruiser while ransack can easily be modded to sport a combiner socket port

That looks much better than what I could have expected. The proportions are nice and your choice of figures works much better than I thought they would. You're certainly headed in the right direction man!
