Several years ago, a pastor of a church in my hometown and the Escambia County Sheriff went up to Wisconsin together to do an illegal deer hunting. Both were caught and had to pay a hefty fined. I remember the pastor made a comment in the newspaper stating that he paid the fine and doesn't want to talk about it anymore. The Sheriff lost his re-election bid last November.
People who use a snowmobile or ATV for recreation are usually asshole/idiots. So this isn't very shocking.
that is a pretty general and ignorant statement. I cant speak for the snowmobiles but there is a lot of ATVs down here and I assure you people I have ridden with are pleasant.
You should only kill animals for their meat, or if they nuisance/threat to your community house. Deer are to tasty to go to waste...
And your the minority, trust me. Rural municipalities here in New Scotland have had such serious troubles with the assholes and jerks who ride these types of vehicles (and a fair few have an ATV for summer and a snowmobile for winter) that the provincial government has banned them from public trails. And there have been criminal vandalism cases from a property owners putting up a fence to keep ATV's out and the riders tearing them down. A few riders even went so far as to vandalize the persons home and threaten them with a beat down. For having the audacity to manage their own property how they saw fit. Even in my sub-urban neighbourhood they ride on the street. Which is totally illegal.
As a professional truck driver, I have no love lost for deer. That said, if you want to kill them, that's fine, but torturing anything to death is just straight up wrong. I look forward to hearing about the capture and subsequent ass kicking of the responsible parties.
Seriously, Wisconsin scares me. I can't count how many crazy/disturbing stories come out of that state every year.

Don't get me wrong... I like venison, especially steaks and jerky. However, I think it's very wrong to torture animals to death. In fact, it's a very heinous crime, and those responsible for this incident should be punished... BIG TIME.
Glad to hear they got the punks. Too bad the penalties for their actions won't likely be very severe.
