In TF:Alliance #2, Captain Lennox says he will be on escort duty for "operation deep six". I assume this name comes from the fact that 6 transformers will be dumped into the deep of the ocean. Five of them are well known: Jazz, Megatron, Blackout, Bonecrusher and Brawl/Devastator. But who is the sixth one? Starscream escaped to Cybertron and took Frenzy's remains with him (The Reign of Starscream), Barricade is confirmed alive (Reign of Starscream and Alliance #1). Scorponok apparently escaped into the sand...

Also, in TF: Alliance #1, Wreckage is referred to as N.B.E.-3. We know N.B.E.-1 was Megatron, but who is N.B.E.-2? It can't be Bumblebee, since Wreckage was captured by Sector 7 before Bumblebee was captured, so this would make Bumblebee N.B.E.-4 in my understanding.

    There's something there, I think...

BB arived on Earth before Wreckage and the other Cons. Therefore he is "N.B.E-2". The "Deep Six" has got me stumped. An error maybe? Wreckage may have been part of been dumped in the ocean, (Then they named the Mission "Deep Six") and then S7 may have wanted to keep him for more studies. Simmons also backs it up: "He's so out of it. He might as well be a part of rolling trash dump heading out west."

I'm pretty sure Bumblebee was referred to as NBE-2 in TF1's prequel adaptation. S7 were aware of his existence shortly after he arrived on Earth.

i can almost garentee they counted frenzy in that list becuase they werent thinking about reign of starscream or the operation was given the name before starscream picked him up

Deep six is also nautical slang to tossing something overboard.

Jazz isn't one of those 6 formers', Prime says in alliance that his remains will be dealt with properly.

No, Optimus asks to come along so he can accompany Jazz's remains, and Lennox responds that the Navy will give him a proper burial. I assume there will be shots fired and some words said before his remains are dumped into the sea.

Frenzy's body is shown with Starscream in this very same comic book (page 17).

I really think you guys are reading too much into the name. To "deep six" something is a common expression. In boat terms, it means to throw something overboard into very deep water. Back on land, we use it to mean getting rid of or stopping something so completely it wont ever come back. Like a failed business plan or something, "deep six that and come up with something new!"

Deep 6, as in 6 feet deep, as in burial. Military jargon for funeral. It also means kill.
