hey, this is another joe custom I am working on. Its called Deep Blue. It is an undersea excavation and exploration pod. AS you can see he is working on being done but I need some assistance with propulsion. Does anyone have or know of anything that would make some good maneuvering thrusters? all input appreciated.

First off, Awesomely creative idea man! Love the Neo-Shifter arms and hands, they look perfect for a real undersea explorer! Good eye! As for thruster/propeller assemblies, maybe some plastic sewing thimbles will get the cone shape you need. Adding a tail prop from a small diecast "HotWheels" sized chopper would get you the propellers too. Hmm... I'll give it a bit more thought! Can't wait to see it finished!:thumbs2:

Is the cockpit from the GI Joe Cobra Mantis, I think it's called?

thanks hank, I aim to please but soemtimes miss the mark. Always glad to hear people dig it. I believe it was called the Iron Hammer. It is the top part of the mech. Had to gut it in order for a full size fig (OR A KINI) to for.

this looks like a cool lil bash.
I can't really think of anything off the top of my head.
You could always just walk the toy isles aimlessly looking at everything, that's what I do when I'm stumped for parts.

What about using some thrusters from those gundam models? They are cone shaped and some are even ball jointed so you could have movable ones .. Pretty much all those model kits came with some kind of jetpack and such that you could salvage parts from .

I will look into that. I think I want somethign a little larger for the sides but an entire backpack might work in teh rear as part of an engine.

Although I haven't used any of them yet, I often collect things to use as parts that weren't toys to begin with. You could call it recycling.

With that said: do you use the air fresheners that use the little oil bottles? When you buy the refills, they have these plastic caps that are useless once you've opened up the bottle to put it in the warmer. The caps are surprisingly big and made of sturdy plastic.

That's just one idea / example. Keep your eyes peeled and use your imagination.

Retractable pens are a good source of random kibble as well.

If you hadn't said it was a film canister, I don't think I would have recognized it. It works, IMO.

I woould say that picking up a 1/144 Gundam kit for $10 or $20 online would give you some cool thruster and vents to work with. i love what you got going so far, man.

Looks great what you've done so far! I think you should put some fins on the side mounted propeller cans, and maybe some harpoons and torpedos to maintain the aquatic theme! I'm likin' it so far!

I found some good rear impellers, I included the last shot to show that they are fully directional. still trying to decide if I want side impellers or possibly fins.
