So I am thinking of what I should do? 1) Look for and go for a Warbot Defender. 2) No Warbot, just buy a Universe Springer from the Ratbat 2 pack. or 3) Wait and hope that they come out with a Generations Springer? (don't know the chances if any of that!)

    What do you guys think?

I honestly don't see a true, triple-Changing Hasbro Springer coming any time soon.

Universe Springer is nice and all.... but...

....Warbot Defender is AWESOME. And he's starting to get scarce.

Even if there is a *triple changer* Springer in Generations...Hasbro are pretty limited by budget constraints....strong chance it won't match Warbot Defender... and that Warbot Defender would hold it's value if you wanted to sell it.

Option 2, i think, will always feel like a stand in.

    I'd say get Warbot Defender.

But some others may have better advice.

G1 or Warbot Defender. Leave the Universe one alone.

Warbot hands down. The Universe version is nice and all, but does not compare. I would also not hold your breath for an official triple changer from Hasbro.

Depends on your funds. If you have the money, get Defender. Even if Hasbro did make a new Springer triple changer, you wouldn't regret having Defender. The universe one is a great mold, but not the greatest Springer.

I say buy the Universe 1 or wait, but that's just me.

To me 3rd party products will always be stand - in because they are not real Transformers. At least Universe's is considered a real and true Transformer.

I wouldn't completely write off a Hasbro version yet, they really seem to be interested in releasing characters from the movie and season 3, and they have successfully made a few triple changers over the last five years. It might not happen for awhile, but I do still have some hope.

I would pass on the Universe repaint version altogether.

I would say as long as you are okay with dropping close to a hundred bucks with shipping on a deluxe class Transformer with a few design flaws, go for Warbot.

Get Defender GREAT toy. I'm hoping for a Classics Springer but I doubt it would be released for awhile yet. The Universe version is a great mold but it's nowhere close to being a suitable standin for Springer.

Warbot. The Universe one if just a straight repaint and doesn't have much character to it as Springer.

I highly suggest the Warbot Defender. He's an excellent representation of the character and he's a damn nice figure.

I wouldn't right off Hasbro or Tak/Tom yet. However there is no confirmation of them doing one now. If you really want it, and have the funds available, get Defender. At least you'll have a little piece of mind. And who knows, even if you can't get Defender now, some new stock might show up later. It has happened.

If you're ready to plop that much cash down, go ahead with Defender. Generations Springer is probably not happening as soon as we'd all like.

My classics display will remain Springer-less for the foreseeable future. Apart from the head scuplt, Warbot Defender is IN NO WAY Springer IMO. Yes, he's green and yellow and grey but the design is all wrong. This is just my opinion of course as I know many people love the figure.

Warbot is great. And surprisingly underappreciated.... I think he's just about the coolest thing FP has created, with the Bruticus limbs running a very close second.

While he has been easy to get for a while now, I suspect he's one of those that, like Shadow Commander and the Aerialbot set before him, will skyrocket in price once he is sold out. So it's probably better to get one while you can still get him for a decent price.

Universe Springer isn't a bad figure from an objective point of view. The Evac mold is one of the best from Cybertron, and he looks good in Springer's colors. But if you want a mold that really evokes G1 Springer, Warbot is a lot closer.
