I really enjoyed the Cobra/Decepticon themed H.I.S.S. I did a couple weeks ago! So, I continued on with the theme, again using the 8284 to to commemerate the 1982 and 1984 launch of ARAH and G1 in the US. Was going to do a Rattler at first, but decided that the name "DeceptiConquest" was just too cool.

I really like the way this one turned out - kinda has a SkyWarp look to it (so I went with "Skystream" for the name of the pilot). I was going to replace his head with that of a Wild Weasel, but liked the way he turned out as is. If you look closely, Skystream also has a Cobra/Decepticon logo on his right sleeve. I still need to get an extra stand and put his name on it.

Was going to put regular Autobot logos or stars for the "shot-down" tally, though it didn't seem quite right. Got the red, white & blue idea from a picture online, and altered it with a star on the forehead. Awesome.



- Used a 25th "Conquest X-30" and a 25th "Slipstream" figure (cut off and sanded his face)
- Metallic purple acrylic paint, metallic speckled black paint and a chrome paint pen
- Combination of packed-in and custom stickers.

 

Now that is saweet!!....man, that does look great.

They are actually stickers. Bought some glossy adhesive paper at Office Depot and printed them out at home. I think it's like 9 sheets for $10. Not bad since I only used one sheet for all the labels for the H.I.S.S. and the DeceptiConquest.
