We see in season 3 Autobots HQ getting destroyed by Trypticon, but they had Autobot City so who really cares. But the real question is what happened to the Decepticon underwater HQ? It was never mentioned again after season 2.

I believe it was destroyed or really screwed up. That or they left it for no reason

 

When we enter The Transformers: The Movie 20 years later after the events of Season 2, we learn that the Decepticons have taken control of Cybertron. Given their ambush plans on Autobot city a short time later (instead of just planning the attack with a troop on Earth), it's reasonable to assume that the base was abandoned. I'd presume that Megatron thought they simply had no use for it to regain control of Cybertron, or that maybe the Decepticons had to devote their entire resources for gaining control of Cybertron.

 

Maybe that periscope-elevator thing finally rusted shut in all that salt water.  

 

I think Sideswipe might still be down there. He's looking around, wondering why someone drew him in the Decepticon base.

 

I really wish there was some show that would cover what happened between Season 2 and 3.

Personally, I think they just abandoned it, and got a new base somewhere else. They have shown how quickly they can construct bases, weapons, etc. with the help of the Constructicons, so it is quite likely.

 

I imagine the Decepticons had no use for the underwater base anymore.

 

We know what happened...the movie happened! I think you mean what happened between Season 2 and the movie.....like HOW did Megatron regain control of Cybertron....Where did the new Autobots come from.....when/how was Autobot City built?? (Maybe if the Autobots hadn't spent their time and resources on Autobot City, then THEY coulda regained Cybertron?? LOL)

Personally, I think that the Decepticons abandoned it after gaining some momemtum in the war and regaining Cybertron.

 

I would like to see a new series that revisit G1 in line with how animated series are handled now days. And no Transformers Prime does not count.

 

I do not want this at ALL. I mean, we can have our discussions here, and even "fan comics', etc., but G1 is done. I think it's best to leave it alone.

Every bit of your post is after the movie. This subject of this thread is what happened from the point at the end of Season 2 and the Decepticons not using this base in the movie.

 

It got infested with cockroaches so they blew it up but only after Megatron realized that bombs don't kill cockroaches.

 

Maybe they just forgot where it was.



But seriously, I think they just moved to their new bigger home.... Cybertron. Its like do you want to live in this RV or do you want to live in this mansion? I'd take the mansion. The Decepticons were pimping for a while.
