That's very clever, Bruteslayer. I knew there was something wrong about the eyes on the Autobot Symbol, but I just couldn't place it.
The movie Decepticon insignia also resembles movie Soundwave's head. Just for the people that didn't know...
I didn't mind the changes to the logos (they're barely noticeable anyway). Part of me actually wanted to see straight-up redesigns of both logos, hence why I made these: Even then, at least the logos we ended up with were recognizable as Autobot and Decepticon insignias, respectively. Coulda been worse, they could have just simply been Cybertronian hieroglyphs as the faction symbols.
So does The Fallen's head, which I think in movie continuity was the basis for the Movie Decepticon symbol because he created them. Soundwave's head always has looked like the Decepticon symbol, because the original one was in fact based off of his toy's head, and since the moviefied version is largely the same overall, that still applies to any Soundwave with a generally similar head design.
The updated logos done for the movies are definitely superior to the originals, and I do like how they have been carried over to the other lines now. It started with Animated, migrated to Classics-verse and can be seen in Prime as well. Probably more than that, but I haven't bought any Masterpieces and whatever else lately to confirm.
I like the new Decepticon insignia better than the old one, but the Autobot logos are tied for me. Both sets of logos kind of complete each other though, try painting the G1 Autobot symbol black (or silver) and putting it next the movie Decepticon symbol. It just doesn't look right.
