That is a sweet alt mode. Really like the way that looks. Whats the color scheme going to be like?

Wow dude! Very nicely done! I had a hard time "seeing" the 'bot aspects of it in the alt mode, which to me anyway, is what makes a TF a great TF! :thumbs2:

Any plans for paint on this guy or is he finished as-is? :p

That's really clever. He doesn't look like a drone to me, for some reason. He looks like a giant flying command center. Like there'd be little patrols of regular-sized Decepticons taking off out of the rear of the... Well, i guess they'd pretty much be flying out of his butthole, but still. Something about that figure says "this dude is freaking huge."

Maybe it's because he reminds me of Lugnut...

Thanks mate. I was thinking of Lockheed black and greys

Thanks mate. Aye, I will/am painting him. I think his form/shape lends itself well to try for a black paint scheme.

LOL, Drones can be quite large, but he is not huge, just the size of a "normal" jet, just wider. You can think of him as akin to Lockheed's U-2TR-1 mixed with General Atomics' MQ-9 Reaper UCAV.

    General Atomics Reaper:

Hope this helps in showing the direction I'm going

Great bot and alt mode, although I picture him as "bomber scale" rather than drone scale.

    Still nice though!

Hey just so you know, Drone aircraft can get pretty damn large... Even the military converts older aircraft(including bombers) into drones (target drones in those cases). So the term "Drone-Scaled" really has no meaning as the smallest ones are tiny, while the largest ones are rather huge. I would imagine that this guy would have a wingspan of some 100ft. I would not consider that too "small"

    Updated :)
    Decepticon Atrex
    Function: Long-range Reconnaissance, Strike, Air-support.
Motto: By the time you see me, you are already slagged.

    Statistics:
    Strength: 6
    Speed: 8
    Intelligence: 7
    Rank: 4
    Courage: 9
    Skill: 7
    Firepower: 7

    Profile:
Flying high above the Cybertron Atrex is found, constantly watching, observing. Atrex is a natural voyeur, it's what he enjoys. Through these actions he finds patterns that form from the seemingly randomness of existence. But do not be fooled, as Atrex is not just some passive naturalist, but rather he is plotting his next strike if called upon by his superiors. Ever ready, he soars constantly in his alt-mode of one of Cybertron's many satellites and drones rarely ever returning to base except when summoned. Atrex preys upon the unwitting, delivering strikes from such a distance as to never actually engage his opponents visually... Some say if you see him, it will be the last thing your optics will ever see. On occasion and if the mission requires it, he will gladly drop from the sky to engage his opponents in melee, ready to deal out his personal forms of spark extinguishing... pulling his hapless opponent aloft thousands of kilometres above the surface and dropping them, all the while he records his victims last moments as he takes plasma shots at them.
There is a very disturbing aspect to Atrex's mind and body in that he is a vulture, a soaring angel-of-death who enjoys not just tormenting his victim's, but also consuming them, as in order for him to stay sentient, he requires the consuming of fellow intelligences. Although disturbed by this, Megatron values this winged terror too much to allow him to become too animalistic, and has appointed Shockwave to see to his condition... A task he thoroughly finds intriguing.

Fantastic paint job, and mod ideas in general.

I love both modes, very original, and would look great with classics!

What is he made out of?

What a great idea! You've taken a brick-of-a-figure & turned it into something pretty damn cool! :D  Nice job Mate! :thumb

I think he's based on this & he's got some other bits & pieces that I can't quite pick.

    Thanks mate!
I was tossec between Low-observable greys or Black, but opted Black as it was much more menacing, and it would homage Lockheed skunkworks :)

    thanks mate!

He was made out of wingblade(galaxy force/cybertron Sonic attack bomber).

Thanks mate! The parts involved are from a Tydirium shuttle, a jet fuselage, a turbine thruster from a scrapped transmetal megatron, and some misc parts here and there :)

    Thank you mate.

I usually do original characters because it allows me to be less constrained.

Thanks mate. I Personally have not seen the "universe/generations/classics" Lugnut but I do get what you are saying :)

I really thought this was a Lugnut rehash when I first saw the thumbnail in the forums. Great paintjob, great menacing vehicle mode, and an elegant reductionist design (in that you removed more of the original toy than you added to it). A+

Thanks. I removed a lot because the original fig was such a letdown IMO, and I like Decepticons. Besides, many times, less is more.

    Thanks :)
