It was 70 years ago today that the attack occurred on Pearl Harbor.
Amazing to think of it as that long ago. I am sure there are a few folks left in the world who still remember it like it was yesterday.
Tonight, I should watch "Tora! Tora! Tora!".
A date which will live in infamy, forever!
It is a day that will never be forgotten. Over 1,177 men died in the worst way imaginable. I pray everyday that we will never see anything like this and 9/11 ever again.
Damn, my grandmother was only 3 at the time. It's a shame with what happened.
I've been watching the History channel tonite...and saw some of the veterans on the news today....it's still so hard for most of them to talk about. Bless each and every one of them.
What's even wierder is that the military base I'm on here in Japan found a bomb and detonated it the day pearl harbor was bombed, ironic isn't it. My base is called Yokota Air Base in case you guys wanted to look it up.
My dad was five months old when it happened.
Strangely enough, Pearl Harbor was a blessing in disguise. If not for Japan's greedy attempt at total Pacific dominance, the US wouldn't have joined WWII, at least not until a much later time.
I'm not discrediting the efforts of the European Allied forces, they did a stand up job, but it would have been a longer and bloodier war without the USA's support.
Amen to that!
Let's just hope that there will be the day when people will finally think of the greater good instead of only themselves and wars in the world will finally stop. And hopefully pollution of the environment will stop too.
Um, happy birthday to me?
