is beyond awful and doesn't work on any level.
I agree, Hasbro's Hun-Grrr looks like shit. But if a 3P is going to make a Hun-Grrr, why stop there? Why not make all five Terrorcons, and ensure that every member of team reaps the usual 3P articulation benefits like wrist swivels, waist swivels, ankle tilts, and hips and shoulders that aren't ball joints? I guess I just don't get the mindset that's willing to shell out 3P bucks for a 3P-quality torso only to stick him with Hasbro limbs. I mean, I saw Rippersnapper, and sure, he looks pretty good for a $15 mass-retail figure, but a $15 mass-retail figure is ultimately still a $15 mass-retail figure.
Yeah, it's pretty godawful. The limbs so far look good, but they deserve a much better torso.
Little forelegs make me think of a dachsund.
Don't jump the gun just yet... this is Hasbro after all.
They could've mistransformed even a render for their own presentation
While we're asking for 3P requests related to POTP, I also want upscaled dinobots to at least voyager size.
because 3Ps usually suck at making toys that actually look like the characters and they like making them overly complex for no reason or they have shit tolerances. The official combiner port engineering is also better than anything I've seen on a 3P figure.
I genuinely prefer all the UW toys over any of the third party alternatives because of this. Cost doesn't even factor in because I can afford anything I want.
How is it the 30 year-old G1 toy alt-mode is better than this??
I'd rather the 3rd party manufacturers stick to stuff Hasbro isn't already making. Like Micromasters, Hearts of Steel, Monstructor, Violent Jiger, the Hardshell, or an Airachnid that isn't ass.
Hasbro has Hunn Gurr covered pretty well
Sounds like you've wandered into the wrong forum dude.
I think you forgot to make that blue.
Nope. I just miss the days when 3Ps did add ons for official stuff instead of making their own mediocre toys and/or turning everything into MPs.
Why does he have Tarn's face?
That's a placeholder, I would guess.
And you're entitled to it. I happen to disagree with literally everything you said there, but you do you, man.
It looks like a two headed dog with a cast on its back legs.
The only reason that ANY of the UW/CW Toys are remotely acceptable is because of the add on kits. The feet and hands are terrible and most of their proportions are horrible. Really the only one I can stand is UWs Devastator.
When that 3rd party Superion drops my UWs set will be on eBay so fast. But hey, at the end of the day enjoy what you like and I will do the same.
While TR reminded me that hasbro can put out some damn fine figures, my opinions on the CW combiner figures are very mixed and would go so far as to say that the only set that wasn't disappointing in major ways is Superion. The PE hand and feet sets approve the look, but actually made the figure worse in terms of stability, so I'm not sure I trust a third party set to actually be worth the cost. Maybe this next set will be better, maybe not, but that Hun-Grr is not really doing it for me yet, here's hoping the final product will be better.
Seems like this Hun-grrr is based off of the TFP Beast Hunters Hun-Grrr in that it's tail is part of the chest vs, the G1 accurate back.
I'd like to see the final version reviews before I jump on the hate train.
I remember lone wolf, so no I am not wasting money on an even crapper version.
Imao, THAT'S A VOYAGER, looks atrociously bad.
Aww, but look at PotP Hun-Gurrr's cute widdle wegs!
Seriously though, I'd really like some improved torsos for the official combiner sets. For all their flaws I was really impressed with the difference MBC not-Onslaught and Lone Wolf not-Motormaster made to their respective official sets.
That Rippersnapper looks fine, but Hun-Gurrr...well, let's just say that I really hope it turns out better than it looks now when the end product is out and in colour.
