Have you ever just looked at something you purchased, and said "why? WHY!?"

I think "more money than sense" it painfully apparent in my case. I'm going to go drink myself into oblivion now. That, and plan on eating nothing but ramen noodles and mac+cheese for the next few years.

Not actually a TF, but, you know. Japanese import toys and all.

Those things are big, AND heavy. It's an insane amount of money to spend at once, but given the retail on them in the first place, I'm not surprised in the least. Getter Robo is also inherently awesome, so I'm sorry, I'm not going to be one of those guys who scolds you for this. :p  Assuming you could afford it, that is.

Each fig is about 10-12" inches tall, on average, weighing about 2 pounds each in zinc content. The shipping didn't shock me all that much, and I knew what I was getting into with the price of each fig (limited to 2500 each, and the guy who designed them ... uh... died.... So they're sort of irreplaceable).

As much as I love the designs, the thought of all that die-cast, etc... still... I don't think such a purchase is anything a sane person would make. Ever.

It almost makes me doubt my hobby that I"m paying so much for a figure.

Surely I"m not the only person to make such a WTF? am I doing purchase?

How many of you regretted it after? Or is Buyers remorse something reserved for lesser purchases? The most expensive thing I bought before now was Binaltech Black Convoy, whom I love but I find I give little attention to.

I only regret one purchase. A zoids SRDX figure of Chris Tasker. It was $7.99 on Toy-Wave.com & I didn't buy it when I had the chance. A few weeks later is was sold out everywhere & impossible to find. I was totally pissed off. Then one showed up on Ebay. I got into a bidding war & it ended at $152.00 in the last few seconds. I got the figure but really got screwed on the price. I love the figure but I try not to think about how much I paid (even though I cant forget). That was really stupid & I made sure it never happened again!

But Cybertron Soundwave & Soundblaster ARE AWESOME!!!!

I've had some 'buyers remorse' on occasion, but it rarely lasts long. I did kinda agonize on spending over $200 on Botcon '05 Ratchet, but I feel a smidge better about it now after seeing what they often go for on EBay nowadays.

You bought masterpiece sized figures that transform with lot of detail. I believe that is one of the few if not only version that can transform into all 3 modes. If you can afford it I think you will enjoy it. Just don't break it, you'll have a heart attack.

It's not a toy, it's an art piece!

I bought a Yamato 1/48 Valkyrie recently, and kind of regret it. It looks really pretty, but the lack of diecast is VERY disappointing. Esp. since it cost $115.

Honestly? My 1/48 Yamato VF-1J Stealth Super set is probably the item I regret purchasing hte most. I broke it within 30 mins of owning it (stupid !#%*(^ing BP-8 piece) and haven't touched it in almost a year. My Gunbuster, same price, I've messed with almost constantly since purchasing it and have even managed to transform it while completely inebriated many times.

I"m hoping these three figs (and from what i've read, there's no reason to believe otherwise) will fall into the latter rather than former category.

No worries dude. I've had my eye on the Perfect Change Getter Robo for a while, which is in that price range as well.

Besides, I have dropped 3 times that amount on a single comic book before(of course it was about 60 years older than that too).

Don't let it bother you, if you're happy with it and you can afford it thats all that really matters. :thumb

I get what you mean...I've experienced the same thing but IMO, if you're a Getter fan and of Japanese toys, they really are cool. As in they're a work of art, have articulation and diecast content is amazing. I've seen and touched them before and the only reason why I didn't pick them up is because I had other purchases on my mind.
