So, I don't delve too much into the world of unofficial combiner upgrades. I don't find most of them necessary, and the ones I do like tend to be too expensive. But, we have an issue here. PotP Abominus will not have hands that match his feet, almost all of the other combiners do. I sincerely hope we can get a relatively affordable set of hands that match nicely with the feet included with Hun-Gurrr. Especially since the feet look pretty damn great, so no need to upgrade those, at least for me.

Perfect Effect's been putting out combiner upgrades pretty much since CW. They recently released (or revealed, at least) upgrades for the Dinobots and Starscream. I'm sure Abominus upgrades aren't too far behind.

A solid set. Pretty damned dumb that he has three different colored hands and feet.

 

New Hun-Grrr more important than new hands. (And that's coming from someone who's obsessed with color-matching). (And yes, the hands are the first thing that caught my eye in the new pics)

 

I'd also like a cartoon accurate head and chest plate since Takara isn't going to deliver.

 

Would be cool but, the chest is mostly formed by his body. I want a purple head.

Enough with these toy colors.

 

I know that, and I do think it will be likely that I end up buying their overpriced upgrade and not even use the feet.

 

As much as I want an upgrade for this guy - I think I'm going to hold out and see if Takara Tomy Mail, may release a toon accurate version.

 

I thought about upgrading my old CW Devastator, but it would have required 2 kits to get the look I wanted. The combined total cost was almost was Constructor cost on sale. Sometimes waiting on the proper 3rd party set that you deserve is better than buying a cheaper Hasbro/Takara and building up from a poor foundation.

Basic required upgrades: hands, feet.

I want a better toy head too (default looks a bit odd with the goofy yellow shades) but could live with a better-looking toon coloured one.

And a G1 blaster for Hungrr/Abominus.
