Sorry for asking, but Ive been looking everywhere for some de-iced pics but can't find any. Anyone have any?
Want to see what he looks like first before I go ahead and rip the ice off mine. It's bugging me

I went for the purple energon look, but not feeling it.

    Thanks

edit- I want him done right for the gallery since there's no Voyager Megatrons in there yet

Should go in discussion, not projects.
However, this post would just make me an asshole if i didn't at least answer, so: take a look at Jin's Site, he should have a voyager megs in there somewhere, he explains some of the basic stuff he did on the figure's page.

The one thing I couldn't figure out, was how to get that blasted chest panel off - I tried undoing all the screws I could find, is there a hidden one somewhere?

i de-iced my best buy exclusive megatron a while back. all i did to this was remove the ice and paint the claws. i like the look better without the ice but i need to do something about that slot on his chest. i also opted to keep his backpack (its better than looking at his flat ass :lol )

hope these pics are what you're looking for.

There is a mechanism that raises and lowers the ice piece on his chest. You need to disassemble it in order to remove the ice piece. It's pretty much straight forward, just go on and open up his chest. I'm sure you'll figure it out from there. :)

    That's perfect, huge thanks brah.

Rhinox, I have Jin's site bookmarked, can't believe I did'nt think of going there. Used to gawk at his creations alot.

Thanks for the info Mampy, I was a little afraid to pop him open.

Now moving on to the gap filling thing. Might just stick something in there for when he's in bot mode, or something.

I just cut mine off with the dremel, it has to parts of plastic which connect to something on the inside cavity of the chest, not worth taking all apart to get to.

Did anyone ever think about using epoxy on the chest area after chipping off a few ice pieces and sculpting his inner chest piece ?

I actually saw that last night, when I finally was able to remove his chest piece, but decided I like how it moves with the transformation gimmick & decided to keep it.

Will need to reshape it using files & the like, until it's the outline I need & then start to lay on the details I need... (kinda surprised JS didn't take that easier route...)

IMO, Jin Saotome's is excellent because he re-sculpt the chest thing and the wings, plus made them removable. He's de-iced, but can still transform... A bonus in my book.

^ Looks better than any Leader class Megatron imo.

I'm not sure about the huge amount of gold colour though...:(

Once again, wasn't criticizing his work - just made a comment that he made his job harder by NOT using the already provided piece & simply sculpting on the 20 panels (since from what I can tell, he's amazing at sculpting in aves...)
