the only reason i ever heard of them was because i was talking with my uncle randall/ randy/clayton about the jlu season 2 cadmus story-arch the other day

and as usual it went from their to him talking on and on and on and on twisting my ear on the matter worse then a broken record player

i don't got nothing against him being a hardcore dc comic book fan uber geek but damn if the guy doesnt give a whole new meaning to the term long winded lol

was that group a actuel homage to the newsboy legion?

He has them run crowd control. Are they a reference to the Newsboy Legion from DC comics, or just some random kids.

seriously though people i could have knocked him over with a feather first time he saw green arrow show up in jlu season 1 episode 1 innitation

to say that he is nuts for the GA/GL storyline archs is a severe understatement in the least especially when it comes to the fact that he especially loves reading that really long soul searching america sight seeing trip story arch from way back when

needless to say i happen to be a serious noob when it comes to the truly old school stuff but im getting there little by little

 

I remember that one from when it aired and yes, that was the Newsboy Legion.

Bruce Timm and all the other guys who worked on the DCAU shows are huge fans of the comics. Any time you think you might see a reference to something from the comics it really is one.

 

While we are on the topic of green arrow /green lantern people i got another question

the background music that plays during green lantern's fight with hro talak near the very tail end of star crossed part 3




is it just me or does anyone else here green arrows theme piece playing at one point during the fight?




it happens during the scene where lantern uses his energy ring as a battle axe and tells hro

"yeah you can kiss my axe"

it sounds like a early takE on GA theme but it definately has that sound going for it
