if there is anyone here who happens to be a fan of the dcau could you please confirm if this continuity list is accurate or not?

i forget exactly where i found this at but so far as i can tell it covers every show in the dcau including teen titans and gotham girls

me i figure one could look at gotham girls inclusion in the list as being a sort of bonus material compaion series to watch with the new batman adventures

Remove "Teen Titans", it's not in the DCAU whatsoever. Simply look at the age of Robin in the series compared to his age in Batman:TAS. He's in college in B:TAS, this is used an explanation as to why he's not always around. It's is hinted that the Teen Titans Robin is Dick, and not Tim. Also, disregard the later statement from Batman to Static regarding Robin's whereabouts and that Static will soon meet the Titans. They were intended initially to be in the DCAU, but decided against as the development progressed.

Also, if you're going to split up episodes by acts to keep in continuity, several seens in the JLU episode "Epilogue" take place prior to the beginning of Batman Beyond, and some within the timeline of JLU. Also, parts of "Once and Future Thing Part 1" take place before any of this, as the B:TAS episode "Showdown" (both of which feature Jonah Hex in the old west).

I'm sure there's more to critique, but perhaps check out The World's Finest website (http://wf.toonzone.net/main.php) as they've got a lot of info regarding this kind've stuff, and very knowledgeable people on their forum on this subject.

Genozaur didn't compile this list as was stated thusly:
This list omits the D2V Superman: Doomsday, the online Lobo web cartoons, and the DCAU video games that Timm and Dini were involved with.

Doomsday isn't actually part of the DCAU.

How so? Even if you don't count the D2V film, he appeared in the S2 Justice League ep "A Better World" and the JLU S2 ep "The Doomsday Sanction."

And the "Joker Jr" flashback scene from Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker takes place sometime after JLU S2 since there are a handful of references to Joker during S2. And the references imply that Joker's still on the loose, which means the final showdown in BB:ROTJ between Bats and Joker hadn't yet taken place.

He meant "Superman: Doomsday" isn't part of the DCAU, not the character, which is correct.

Also, Brainiac Attacks is NOT in continuity. They just used the animation and voice actors, but yeah, Brianiac had already been established before and when he shows up in the movie, Supes has no idea who he is.

Ugh. I hate that movie so much. It has the single worst Lex Luthor in existence.

Bunch of web episodes produced in the late 90s or early 2ks. Involved just the females of the Bat-verse of course. Babs, Harley, Ivy, Catwoman mostly. It's also probably not in continuity, since they didn't really worry about continuity so much as a fun story.

It's also, or was also, a comic series.

But yeah OP: Teen Titans can't be in the same continuity as DCAU. They two are impossible to coexist.

It didn't include all the original VAs either, which was just another reason I didn't care for it. They recast Lance Henricksen as Brainiac rather than Corey Burton. And while I've enjoyed Henricksen's other performances in the past, he didn't even come close to Corey's excellent performance.

And recasting Lex Luthor with Powers Boothe instead of Clancy Brown (who gave the best and definitive performance for Luthor to date, IMO) was a real WTF for me, unless Clancy simply wasn't available for the project. But I seriously doubt Corey was unavailable. I think the studio simply wanted to cast a celeb with more notoriety.

If the movie hadn't sucked overall, I'm not sure I'd have cared for it even if it had turned out to be decent based solely on the recasting decisions.

The performances were so different it even affected the characters. Luthor in Brainiac Attacks is a bad parody of the Luthor from the DCAU.

And while Superman: Doomsday was entertaining (even if the title character is so briefly in the film it's almost a cameo), I was baffled and disappointed at the complete overhaul of the voice cast. Up until that production, I'd always had great admiration and respect for voice director Andrea Romano. But when she says in the featurette that they "decided to go a different direction" in regards to the voice cast, she lost me from that point on. It was completely unnecessary to revise the cast so drastically. And once again, the performances changed the characters, and they generally weren't improvements.

Anne Heche's voice coming out of Lois Lane made my stomach queasy.

Couldn't Teen Titans take place between the flashback sequences in "Robin's Reckoning" and the first appearance of the Dick Grayson Robin in BtAS? It's a bit of a stretch, but would allow for Dick Grayson to be the right age for both series. Unless there's something I'm forgetting in the DCAU continuity that definitively contradicts that possibility...

Teen Titans' Robin just doesn't fit the personality from BtAS. I always felt that it could fit The Batman's Robin nicely though. Also, with Static Shock, it sort of merged with the DCAU and no one noticed. Originally it was it's own thing, referencing the "secret" identity of Clark Kent being Superman once or twice. in the first season only to be teamed up with Superman in a later episode as well as Batman a few times (two generations of Batman..) and the whole Justice League (where the VAs for the League just don't sound comfortable with their characters... hard to explain until you see the episode and had the best visual for Brainiac ever... so happy they reused it in JLU).

Also, Superman/Doomsday was it's own continuity hense why everything was so different. I'm pretty sure all of DC's animated movies are out of the DCAU we all love.

If Teen Titans qualifies for the DCAU, then so does Krypto The Superdog. Paul Dini even wrote a half-dozen eps for that kiddie show. And there was a BTAS Batman cameo on Freakazoid too, if you want to get really technical.

Neither Gotham Knight nor Justice League: The New Frontier are considered part of the DCAU by most fans.

Bruce Timm was involved in production on JL:TNF though.

Gothom Nights is part of the current movieverse, and each of the d2d animated movies are all separate from each other.

The DCAU consists entirely of B:TAS and it's movies, S:TAS, Static Shock, Justice League, Batman Beyond, and Zeta Project. That's it.

Teen Titans, The Batman, Legion of Superheroes, Krypto, and Brave and the Bold are all separate shows. Someone actually asked about TT once, at SDCC, because of Speedy showing up in both TT and Justice League cartoons, and Batman mentioning the TT in an episode of Static Shock. They said that it is not tied to any other show.

when it comes to teen titans the animation style had me thinking that they were portrayed as being somewhat younger then they really are what with it being one of those kid shows as it were

all things considered though what with robin being dick and eventually nightwing as well over time when it comes to the referances the show makes to btas when it comes to batman and robin one could if only in a rather unoficiel manner of speaking look at tt as presumably taking place at some point just after batman and robin had their personal falling out with each other

i beleive that event was actually explored in some part in tnba episode old wounds

I alway thought Superman Brainiac Attacks almost fits in with Superman Returns. Not only did they use the Return emblem at least once, but Lex was closer to the Gene Hackman portrayal which Spacey mimicked in that movie as well.

TT's Robin isn't Dick Grayson, however. So, Dick being the only Robin in the DCAU until near the end of the run, and Tim being the new Robin, means that the TT show would need to be about Tim as Robin, during, or after, the events of the original 90s Batman that started the DCAU...

...except, TT's Robin isn't Tim Drake either.

Glen Murakami, head of the TT show, said it's an amaglamated character. Both Tim AND Dick. Which means it can't be either.

Further, DCAU Flash and TT Flash are completely incompatible with one another. Wally is both. DCAU Wally is the only FLash ever in DCAU. Wally in TT is Kid Flash, and 'pupil' to another Flash.

That's because GK and JL: TNF can not fit in the DCAU. GK is just a few short stories about Batman, which doesn't even include continuity in itself, when you look at it thoroughly. There's some continuity in some eps but not all.

JL: TNF takes place in the 1950s, and has the JSA. DCAU had no JSA and starts in the 90s. And the whole contradictory history and all...
