Apparently IGN says it's supposed to be happening pretty soon.
i got a stupid question, signed up how?
DC Universe Online
I'm pretty sure Prowl had a thread on this some months ago.
Several people signed up.
Yep, I've signed up. Waiting to see if I get in now.
I signed up when I saw on facebook that they are letting people sign up for the Beta. I hope they pick me.
The last few trailers sold me on the game idea. Signed up for the beta. See what happens.
oh ok, i pointlessly signed up but i hope to hear more news about the game.
Just signed up for PS3 rev.
I guess I could have registered for the PC, too.
love the armored look of the future versions of the characters <3
Signed up for the PS3. Kinda miffed it's not Marvel Universe Online, but DC isn't bad. Can't complain then
Just saw that when the game launches, the monthly price is going to be $15. Eff that.
It does sound a little daunting but I spend a couple hundred pound a month on game related stuff, so if one game can actually keep my attention (i.e a console MMO) I have no problem reducing it down to just a tenner a month.
I don't even spend a couple of hundred a year on gaming anymore. If they expect me to pay $15 a month, give me the game disc for free.
I signed up, but I doubt I'd get in. Really, I'm just lookin for something to fill some time until FFXIV is supposed to hit the PS3.
Is it any more expensive that say World of Warcraft or FFXI? I'm not up-to-date on my prices of those MMOs.
I do agree that if your paying a subscription the initial cost of the game should be less.
Same price, although I think WWO is a dollar less.
I signed up. Anyone know more about the game? For instance. I have a question about it's appeal to a gamer with less time on his hands. Final Fantasy 11 was built from the ground up to be played 24 hours a day and punish you for missing a day of gameing (everyone would outlevel you and could no longer party with you). This, on top of a message at the title screen stating to remember to not let the game consume you.
Is this game really caper-based (ie. you log in and do missions with your friends?) Or are you going to be grinding for 6 hours and spending 20 hours finding a party?
Same price as WoW, a little less then XI, but XI charged for extra character slots so it rounded out to the same price. XIV will be the same way, 13 for one character, more for extras.
...err, no it wasn't >_>
But I don't think there is much info out there on the actual gameplay or playstyle of this game. Or at least there's none that I've seen. Most info doesn't really come rolling along until Beta time anyway.
I know we talked about this before, bud, but I loved 11. I just found it so annoying that I could find a great group of people to level with, but if I missed a day or two of playing, they would continue to level, and when I'd log in again, they would be high enough that I could no longer party with them. Alliances would take forever to form in order to do higher missions, and sometimes people would leave them right before you would get started, and an entire night was wasted.
Granted, this was my experience, and there were also so killer great times, but I never got my Summoner past 55, because I simply could not find enough parties to level with, and when I did, and they loved my healing/summoning style, I'd have to be out for a few days, come back and found them 5 levels higher, which put me right outside of any exp being beneficial to me. So I always wanted the ability to solo, on those evenings that no one wanted to party, but taking my Summoner to the desert was soooooo slow that I just turned the game off and played something else.
I know partying is encouraged in these games (hence the MMOR), but there has to be a balance. I found games like PSO to have that balance, and "instance" mission based games, like WOW also were sucessful in this, even if I enjoyed FF11 more than WOW.
I signed up forever ago I won't be getting this game due to the monthly fee to play. I think this will fail on the console but I hope it's takes off for the PC. I will give it a try but to invest $180 a year plus the cost of the game. I think I would rather get 3 new games with that, which I never do the last game I paid $60 for was Killzone 2.
