This is the DC Direct Superman from the "Superman vs Doomsday" collector set (take it as a hint   )

I tried to give him a comic look, with some heavy lining and airbrushed shading.

I used the best artwork I could find as reference, trying to make this Superman look just like he came out of a comic book!

Yo that is excellent work there! I've never seen a figure painted as a comic before. The first picture looks like a drawing more than a real photo. Awesome.

AWESOME! I just recently went through my boxes to dig out my DC Doomsday from a couple of years back (along with a few different Superman figures). I've been thinking of repainting them better, but this just gives me all kinds of inspiration to get going on 'em. Beautiful work, man--I really dig your cartoon/comic styled paint apps.

INTERESTING. The "hand-drawn" style is both distracting and effective. It's like my eye is constantly fluctuating between trying to see this as a flat image and as a physical object.

The only other time I recall seeing something like this is with the recent TMNT figures painted to resemble the original black and white comics by Eastman and Laird.

    Nicely done.

Thank you all for your comments!
Really makes me want to make on this style :)
At first I was so scared this was not going to work, I've never seen any other comic style figure before.. NECA's TMNT are nowhere this extreme on lining, but they were an inspiration. I actually repainted all four of them a while ago.. might post them soon :)  (don't expect much though, I only repainted their bandanas!)
