DC buys stake in manga publisher; has plans for online comics

    I suspect that even if it starts with just their manga line that it will be viewed as a test run for their other titles as well. Smallville has already had two online/moblie-phone comic tie-ins. If a 150+ year old institution like the New York Times can continue to discuss going print-free by the end of the decade, maybe we should accept it for comics too.

    Personally, I don't mind if they switch off most of their print monthlies. Most, not all, but most of them would do just as well online-only and they'd cut down a few less forests of trees for stuff like the Creature Commandos mini-series.

    DC should revamp their old Amethyst: Princess of Gemworld as a manga. It would be perfect to adapt as shojo magical girl title.
