This early morning 3/11/07 at 2:00 A.M. Turn your clocks ahead 1 hour. This goes for the U.S. and Canada I believe. This is about 4 weeks earlier than normal for DST to help the country save energy.

I'm pretty sure they've proven through enough studies that it does indeed save a small - but measurable and somewhat significant - amount of energy.

At any rate, I'm not getting used to this "earlier in the year" bit.

In most places, and thus overall, yeah. But in some parts of the country, extending the daylight during the hottest months of the year just means running the AC longer/harder, negating any energy saved by not turning on the lights for another hour. This is almost certainly the main reason Arizona doesn't observe it; I wish Texas would join 'em.

Damn government and their daylight savings time scam really screwed me over this year. I didn't get to sleep until 1:30, which was really 2:30, and I had to be up at 7:30. Add in waking up to piss at 5 (had a little too much beer when I went out to dinner it seems) and I got less than 5 hours of sleep.

Yeah, I got screwed on it also. Had to be in at 7 in the morning, hadn't gotten off 'til almost 9 (basically 10) the night before and it's an hour drive. I was crabby all damn day.

I only had to adjust a few clocks. Cable Box clock and computer clock adjusted automatically.

That's pretty cool, somehow I felt like playing baseball today despite all the snow. Must be because we normally do this in April!!!!

ALL of my clocks in the apartment (computer, phone and cable box) updated automatically..but without me even realizing it, which confused me at about 5am, enough to where I didn't know what the hell time it was for sure until I went and checked greenwich.com.
