Well, it's out now. Anyone see it? I just got it from the Redbox machine using a McDonalds coupon. So far, it's ok.

Edit: Ok, so when people die, their face melts. Intersting.
    Oh shit! Fast zombies!

I wasn't holding my breath, but I'm glad to hear it's at least watchable.

    Off to Netflix!

Just finished it. It was ok at best.

The director must have watched one of those Japanese horror flicks and Planet Terror before making this. They do the cut out fames for the zombies sometimes, and there are a few scenes where they do the old 70's style cinematography.

    The story was alright though.

Eeeeeeeh. Is it better or offer anything different to the original?

I mean, Day of the Dead is probably the second best zombie trilogy flick (Night is the weakest, but only cuz it was less refined) but it still had a lot to offer.

That sucks. The Dawn of the Dead remake (with Rhames) was amazing (IMHO). I was really looking forward to this, and was surprised to see it hit DVD without ever hearing anything about it previously. :sly:

Really? I thought the original Day was the weakest of the original trilogy. This one is a lot different. It's not so much a remake as it is a zombie movie with the same name as an old one and happens to have soldiers in it.

Forgot it was released. Just b/c I'm a zombie flick buff I'll probably swing my Best Buy on my way home and pick it up. Might as well since I have all of Romero's originals and the other remakes.

Speaking of zombie flicks, I still need to find time to watch Automaton Transfusion I bought a few weeks ago...

Yeah, I thought the original Dawn was the best, followed by Day then Night. Just personal preference I guess. I think its because I saw Night after Dawn, so it didn't seem to offer anything new to me.

Automaton Trasfusion was retarded. Seriously, the story was pretty stupid. I would return it if you haven't opened it yet.

I like this DOTD remake. It was interesting and had a couple of homages to the original such as names. Sucks that they changed Zombie Bub to Bud and that Dr.Logan was a dick. But still cool nonetheless.
