I was just watching Ebert and Roeper a second ago and David said he didnt like it.
He said he found it boring, unfunny, and discontinuous. Failure.

generic filler critic since Roger Ebert can't be on the show. I saw the end of his review yesterday, he said something about it being like every other Michael Bay movie, where "all african-american characters are maniacs and all women are smoking hot" to paraphrase.

    "all african-american characters are maniacs"

Yessss, Micheal Clarke Duncn really was more maniacal than Steve Buscemi in ARMAGEDDON wasn't he?
All those 'African American' soldiers in THE ROCK were clichés weren't they?
Djimon Hounsou in THE ISLAND was a walking stereotype wasn't he?
PEARL HARBOR's Cuba Gooding Jr was a riot don't you think?

We can all make stuff up to make it sound like we're oh so better than those we look down on, but at least make sure it's something that holds up to scrutiny.

As for the "smoking hot women" remark... If he's going to single out Micheal Bay for that then he truly is a hypocrite. He is talking about Hollywood after all...

Most critics don't give a damn about anything that is outisde of the mainstream, or whatever the "hot genre" is right now. Transformers is the first movie in a long time, that really IMO couldn't be lumped in with everything else that released around the same time that it did.
But at the same time, the guy has a right to his opinion, and a right to share it, just like we all have once or twice, and we all can't agree with it.

while "David" was giving his review, Mr. Roeper actually stopped him and said "you were supposed to just take off your critic glasses for this and just have fun"

I dont care whoever this David guy is. If he isn't a fan of the TF series then why the hell should he f***ing care. If he said that in my face, I'd make a spiked wheel and throw it at him and laugh like a saddistic MFer. >_>

I can't wait until all the people who negatively reviewed Transformers says that Transformers 2 "fails to capture the magic of the original".

    Case in point:
    The Matrix.
I did not read or see a single positive review for the Matrix.
Yet, it sneaked in under the radar and we all know what happened.

Then, when The Matrix Reloaded came out, most reviewers said that it "failed to capture the magic (or the essence) of the original", but if you could find their review of the original film, they did not like that one either.

    Film critics are pointless.

    Well here is the differance:

Ebert went into the movie atleast letting it prove itself to him and he discounted it at as a toy movie in his review, to high light, regardless of the origins he based his findings on the films merit not its origin.

Roper was a pr@#k from the start saying its a movie based on a toy whats next gobots. This shows no objectivity and absolutely no understanding of looking at the movie from an objective point of view. Essentially if you look at this film from a film snob point of view no matter how good this film could ever actually be no matter if the script was the most specificly perfect plot and character driven script ever you have to HATE it just based on its origins as a toy.

I have read both reviews that is what i got from it well actually Roper didnt actually review the film but he gave his opinion on it. lol

Not to say you cant like the movie but his reasons are under false pretenses.
