Wtf?

Seriously... I mean I'm glad it's not Chalk again, since I'm just really tired of him as Prime now, but this is freaking weird.

 

Cool. Change is good. Love Gary Chalk, one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet but glad to see we're mixing it up a bit.

 

I liked one of the quotes in that other thread ("Megatron Must Be Stopped. No Matter the Cost. Yeeeess.") . But in all, I think with direction of a young, inexperienced Prime for a change, this is another change meant to accomodate that one. I'll wait to judge it. I don't expect a lack of criticism as someone always finds something to gripe about (referrencing RiD Prime to Robocop, TFA-TFC Prime being called Apt-imus or Fat-imus or whatever).

  Hmm... has no one else realised that Kaye has done other things besides Megatron? The guy has incredable range. I can't believe that some people are thinking that he's going to use the same voice for Prime that he's been using for Megatron. It's funny really.

 

I'd like to put my vote for Chalk as Ironhide.

Yes, I say he should be Ironhide, and thereby imply that Ironhide should be in the show too.

Let Kaplan play Megatron. Call up any of the RID guys, they did great work but RID is treated like the red headed step child of TF...

 

Now I'm intrigued. This will be interesting, to say the least.

David Kaye is the best VA of our time but still.... WIERD!

 

Yeah, i gotta admit this is kinda wierd in an ironic way. He spent the past 10 years being the bad guy, and now he's gonna be the leader of the good guys. XD

I'm sure he'll be great, but it's still kinda wierd.

 

I also chuckled at this bit of news, but I've seen enough of Kaye's work to know that he could easily play (and play well) a younger Optimus Prime with compassion and strength.

But after hearing they wanted a "Scar-like villian" for megatron, I couldn't help but think Kaye would be perfect. Oh well, so long as we get a kickass toy out of it

Damn, this ought to be good. Kaye, who usually played Megatron in BW, BM, Armada, Energon, and Cybertron, now gonna be Optimus Prime!? Then perhaps Gary Chalk will be Megatron.   But this sounds like a good start. I like Gary Chalk as Prime, but it gets kinda boring after hearing his voice as the same character for about three TF shows.

 

"There's a thin line between being a hero and being a bad guy." Kaye is now both. Interesting, yessssss. But I think he'll do a good job.

I'm a little confused about this "young Prime" though. While it would be cool to see Optimus's early years on Cybertron, it looks like this show will be set on Earth again. So if they need a young Prime why not just use Rodimus?
