I obviously haven't dated in 14 years since I've been with my wife exactly that long BUT I have NEVER had problems getting a date way before that. When I started dating my wife, I was up front about my collecting habits I didn't "hide" anything from her. Like TJ said hiding stuff from the girl could turn her off alone no matter WHAT it is! It makes you seem fake. My wife respects my collection and HAVE NEVER HAD ANY KIND OF PROBLEM WITH IT WHATSOEVER! She often says that the 2 BAD-ASS Mustangs in my garage cancel out any nerdiness I might have lol ANOTHER IMPORTANT THING: Women can smell confidence a mile away and I know you may not want to hear this but you seem to be lacking in that department, no offense. You need to build some self-confidence, my friend. Women do NOT want a man they have to pick up all the time.
I must be the luckiest guy on Earth. All the girls at my school find my collecting habit cute and adorable. Other guys constantly harass me about it, but girls find it cute. Fine with me.
Hahah. Funny thing is that when it comes to other nerds, either order would work. ...but what if enough is enough & you just wanna get some sleep? Seriously though, I came here to say basically the same thing, but you did it better (as usual). +rep Hah, it had to be Mudflap, didn't it?
Mega jealousy flows through my veins. Where I am, I'm the transformers nerd. I'm in my own hybrid social class because the cooler guys somewhat like the movies and the nerdy guys have read the comics now or then. However, im the only one with a collection (not to big of one). It's not that I've kept it a secret, but it's just never came up. For the girls however, they're one and the same: Transformers = Stay Away.
Just don't be obnaxious about your collecting. don't be like, BITCH I DO WHAT I WANT IN YO FACE. Kinda be suttle about it. I do comics and toys and video games and movies out the wazzoo, But I'm not annoying about it, so people deal with it.They don't like it, but it's forgettable
Actually, south park is the third most popular show in my school. Second is the Walking Dead, and first is Family Guy (cause we all live in Rhode Island)
My point went over your head entirely. South Parks character is hated by other characters because hes obnoxious and in your face. I'd hate to talk to someone like that in reality.
Wow you are lucky. With me, people tend to think my collection hobby is merely the beginning of my supposed "robot army" and it's gotten to the point where I'm practically the human equivalent of Skynet. It doesn't exactly help that I'm a robotics buff. Not that there's a problem with that, but I digress. To the OP, I'm sorry that she broke up with you but I must agree with what most of the other posters have already stated. Building up self-confidence and being yourself is definately the way to go.
Point is, personally, with my hobbies if someone asks I tell them. Casual convo about it. Not crazy obsessive asshole about it. Just my two cents
You make us femme's seem like a type of breed of something....o.o;; Cant think of the word but yeah....XDDDDD We are gentle. Well I am I could careless about some dudes habit or whatever so long as it isnt drugs or something like that. But yes guy or girl just be yourself. If that person doesnt like what you do then to the door with them. Ftw.
Eh, he was sitting on my desk, and he's the only thing that came to mind.Point it, I'm unlikable. Like a girl would like an asshole. I'm an asshole, right?
