I think metal is in Durasteel and Plasteel. And the Mandalorian crush gaunt is made of Mandalorian iron. That's not including what his bionics are composed of. His breath screen is metal also. Darth Vader's armor - Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki
Doom(METAL SUIT) beat magneto, ironman beat magneto(METAL SUIT),Vader's "suit" is leather, yeah there are parts that are metal like but they are more some space type composite,Vader wins hands down, magneto has already lost to men in actuall metal suits.
Neither Doom or Iron Man are on complete life support. In reality there would be no way Vader could live with the type of injuries he suffered or if he did he would be on a iron lung type setup, this being the SW universe he was spared that. Iron Man's suit is more necessary to his functioning I think but I don't think he depends on it as much as Vader depends on his. Even though Vader's armor is not made of traditional metals or alloys I'm thinking that on a base level they are still metal. What would happen if Vader's breath screen which is composed of metal was crushed?
good points, this is a tough one indeed, but I dont think magneto could control the force,he does not have that kind of power.
You are right Mags does not control the force and Vader even with artificial limbs was one of the strongest force users ever seen.
Vader > Magneto Magneto controls metal, Vader controls everything including metal. Let's say the force and the magnestism cancel eachother out, Vader also has a lightsaber, force choke, lightning, and can see things before they happen. If you argue that Mistique would help Magneto, then I would argue that Darth Sideous would help Vader, Sideous > Mistique.
Actually, you need real flesh in your hands t use force lightning, but Vader could EASILY kill Magneto.
Jedi mind tricks only work on the weak minded, which Magneto isn't, so unless Vader can kill Magneto in a second with the Force Magneto will rip him to pieces.
Just me, I can't see Vader lasting long against a man who can pull his metal parts off him like tin foil. So unless Vader can trick Magneto to give him time (cuz choking takes time) or to get close to use his lightsaber I just can't see Vader winning. Now if the discussion was Magneto versus Anakin Skywalker it might be different, but Vader the broken half man half machine is no match for the mutant master of magnetism.
Seriously? seriously? How about Sonic the Hedgehog versus Wolverine? Batman versus Galactus? I think we need a series called "When pop culture goes wrong" Dave Chappelle can be the host.
For the love of Buddha, how many times does this need to be repeated? All those metals that Magneto can control? VADER CAN CONTROL THEM, TOO. How are people ignoring this?
Hrm, I think I see the source of disagreement here, the fact that this is in the movie forum. If we're talking about Movie Vader vs Movie Magneto, then yes, Vader has the edge. Vaders telekinesis (because when you break it down thats all it is) is on a par with Magnetos magnetism. All mental powers employed by Vader are rendered void by Magnetos helmet. However, if we're talking about Comic Magneto, I don't think Vader stands a chance. No Jedi has never displayed the same level of control over objects that Magneto employs with his magnetism. Magneto kept an Asteroid in orbit with a fraction of his power, (ho hum, I'm off to bed now.' 'But my Lord! What about Asteroid M? We need you to keep up aloft!' 'Oh my sad silly little Acolyte, I do tricks like this in my sleep.') IIRC Magneto fought Dr Doom AND the Avengers to a standstill recently, in the 'Childrens Quest'. Bear in mind that Iron man, Doom and all those other metal suited guys wear suits in order to give them extra power, Vader wears his to KEEP HIM ALIVE. Everyone elses suit is a weapon, Vaders is his life support vest. So if we're talking about Movie Magneto, it's close to a draw, but if we're going to talk about Comic Magneto (the media he's most developed in) then really I still maintain that Magneto wins. Easy.
Wrong again. And by the way, I hadn't even considered movie Magneto. The comics version was the only one I was thinking of.
How about these T-Rex Vs. Rancor Monster Predator Vs. Nemesis IG-88 Vs. Terminator Optimus Prime Vs. Vultron Ninja Turtles Vs. Power Rangers Yoda Vs. Neo Darth Maul Vs. General Grievous Rambo Vs. John Matrix He-Man Vs. Conan Achilles Vs. King Leonidas Michael Jordan Vs. Lebron & Kobe At The Same Time Light Saber Vs. Captain America’s Shield Boba Fett Vs. Dog The Bounty Hunter Aqua Man Vs. Michael Phelps Agent Seymour Simmons Vs. Devastators Left Nut
Hm. I'm leaning toward whoever reacts fastest enough. Fun fact, some versions of Magneto don't usually need to move much to manipulate something. He still needs to move, but it varies usually based on the size of the object that he's moving (like when he moves a very large Bridge). The most he has to do is focus on say, Vader's helmet (or at least the breathing mask) and close his hand. Of course, the fact is that Vader could just as easily throw Magneto across whatever area they happen to be in without much effort, then proceed to Force Choke him. Again, whoever reacts fast enough would come out as the winner in a situation like this. Oh, and just a quick heads up, Magneto's powers can actually effect anything that has a magnetic field, not just metal; metal just happens to be easier for him to manipulate.
